The video was taken. A draft was watched at the presentation last night. Looks great. The official video will be out next week.

That's sad I really enjoyed last seasons event even though the marathon didn't happen. Hopefully it's just having a rest.

The wave competition will be on Saturday 13th of January.

Kato, you would enjoy this season even more.

There will be something on every week.
Safety Bay YC will run the Slalom series fortnightly, The Pinnaroo H2O is now a fast 10-12 km downwinder. Leeman and Cervantes are back on. A foil event on the river, Wednesday night twilight series are back on (6 races).
Margs waves comp is on in February.
Yacht clubs will run foil competitions too.

Slalom series fortnightly at safety bay? That might be a bit much for some. I'll be interested to see whether that helps the popularity or reduces it.

... are the funds to replace body parts, or a new van/trailer/caravan/Sikorsky ?

BTW,

Is it possible to the ledge to lancelin within the WA water rules unsupported if you take appropriate equipment, Flares, ELB, etc. Or do you need to take an anchor and a plastic bucket?

They've trimmed our rules down and removed the ridiculous bits over here, so entirely possible. Year before last (when it didn't happen) some of the wa crew did the run together just for fun. No course followed, just did the run from ledge to Lano. I believe some did it on the last one as well as a "test run" since the forecast wan't looking too good at all for race day. Proved to be the right move too.
