This arvo (Sunday 31/7) a mate and I were out sailing near the big marker between Pt Peron and Garden Island when I copped a belting from a wave and my board separated from my sail. Some drama unfolded but to cut a long story short (due to 90mins of swimming) it looked like it was going to drift under the big bridge (aka coathanger). I'm guessing by the morning it will be at Kwinana beach or maybe the shipping terminals further North.
I'd dearly like to have it back and will of course reward the finder. Please call Jono on 0402 440 135. Thanks.
Need to rig sea rescue and report it missing so they dont send out a search party.

Did you end up drifting to the causway?
" super windy"
Just a question what happened?
Did you snap a uj? pin type or a rubber grommet just out of curiosity?
Gusts of 45 knots youd be lucky to swim quicker than its drifting..
Did anyone in Rockingham make it back in without broken bones cuts (get well soon) booms masts & lost boards!!!
I got a call from Freo water police today with a contact number for a worker at the BP refinery who had come across my board in their little harbour area. No idea what condition it's in but I'll find out tomorrow when I pick it up.
As far as I can tell it just separated. Perhaps the locking pin is a bit worn.
We were out around 4pm so the wind was a bit west and lightening off but it was still bloody hard to catch it swimming.
Damm, so it is broken after all.
Not surprised though, as it didn't look too good when I helped you out of the water.
Hope you'll be ready again before summer.
Next time maybe try a power band on your ankle .
It was pretty windy
Cheers Sander, thanks heaps for the help and to Hoop and green eggs, next time I'll try not to cry like a schoolgirl. Hope to see you on the water soon.
Thanks again, Grant.
Grant, Grant, Grant,
What Tha ?
I thought it was just a matter of when not if you hurt yourself hang gliding and you go and bang yourself up out sailing???
Oh well enjoy your enforced holiday I hope it heals up quickly.
Now do tell how did you do it?
Yes pare and no wind tell us...
Ill start it off.
One windy day in gusts of 47 knots
Everyone has been there. I was down south underestimated a front and blew up 60 knots ended up clinging to a boat marker float for 90 min before the front passed and i could start swimming back to shore. lost 2 grands worth of gear sail booms etc.
It became apparent in the water that the loss of gear didn't matter.
Wait till you HG mates find out how you did it
Interesting the fib snapped and not the tib. I guess we'll be seeing more of you on the forums now.
"Wait till you HG mates find out how you did it"
They would just be relieved it wasn't flying related.
"Interesting the fib snapped and not the tib."
Hey, I'm not complaining, it did break from twisting, not impact.
" I guess we'll be seeing more of you on the forums now."
Yeah, I thought I'd start with my right leg and left thumb.
