Hi Slalom racers,
I've got my fingers crossed for a light Seabreeze on Saturday. So far the only forecast showing a sailable breeze is on seabreeze but it's early days yet. I'll keep an eye on it and make a call by Thursday.
Cheers,
Mike & Jo

We should make it like the PWA and race foil slalom if it's light.

I wouldn't exactly call that racing mate, more like snailing..

When I look at the local Wally fleet I can count several world champ titles, inc a world wave champ and the current world champion...numerous national and state titles,America's cup sailor.
sounds like racing to me...

The depths of sailors in WA is phenomenal. We see them with the juniors too.

Yeah but you like to be able to drink beer while you're racing Snides, and Wally's are perfect for that.

Snides Farr racing yacht is much better for beers than the Wally. I think the foils have more stability and width suitable for beer drinking platforms than the Wally anyway.
Anyhoo... back to the topic of Slalom Series Round 1.
Just a reminder everyone to come down and register earlier for racing.
Registration will open around 10am.
Race Briefing at 12pm.
Earliest possible start is 1pm.
If you haven't sorted your WWA or SBYC membership please ensure that this is done today, and remember it is cheaper to buy tickets online than on the day. Whole season is $90, round by round is $15.

See you all tomorrow
Hi Slalom Racers,
What an epic day on the water yesterday, 29 sailors all having a blast. Big thanks to all the Safety Bay Yacht Club crew who did all the scoring, starting and rescue duties, without those guys it doesn't happen. Here are all the results:
Looking forward to the next race on the 16th of November, with Leeman the following weekend. Not many have entered Screemin Leeman yet so please get on board early this year, we nearly lost the event last year through lack of numbers. In the end we had a great turnout and an awesome race so lets keep it going!
Cheers,
Mike & Jo

Cheers to Chris from Windsurf Systems for the support with getting me on some great gear. I'll be mixing it up this season between the full cam Sailworks NX and free ride Huckers. Thanks to Mike, Josie and SBYC for running a smooth event. I can't wait for the next ones.
