Have read few posts on SB but had a few questions hoping people can answer.

Not after speed runs just flat water for my wife that is just getting into footstraps.

Is the water in front of Nanga Bay resort still relatively flat? Shallow?
Sailing at Shell Beach by what i can work out people normally sail the left hand side. Do people drive on to the beach? Looking at Maps it looks like a track down to beach where I have marked in black, is that correct? Or where is best to launch? Is it still shallow?

Has anyone sailed Big Lagoon in FP NP? Worth the drive in?

From memory, the water in front of the resort will be lumpy and sharky The boo bays bit that you marked will have much better scope for flat water.

Hi - we went to the Nanga Bay "luxury" resort in October about 3 years ago. It was all flat water (about 1 m deep for the first 200-300m) and the seabreeze was 100% onshore, so you could blast up and down forever. I thought it was perfect for learning to waterstart and jibe.
Having said that, the seabreezes were in the 15-20 knot range at the time and it might be more bumpy at other times.
We did not see any (big) sharks .... We made a little video at the time:

HI shaggy ...i been to shark bay and sailed about 15 times now ..great place nanga,is closer to boobbay as you have it pictured ,its good for speed runs ,off shore breeze ,also shell beach is good
however we stay a Denham ,it has supermarket, pubs and nice accommodation .
on shore breeze ..nice and shallow ,also has little lagoon to sail .i would recommend boots ,as it has broken pearl shells in the sand
which can cut deep ...water is nice and warm and it blows most days ...my mate has taught his kids to sail there ..so it is great for teaching or learning ..
late afternoon it blows strong ...we have had many days where we have sailed all day ...shark bays a great spot .
we went up to big lagoon ...the wind direction wasn't that good for it we thought ...
