As the last puffs pushed thru the last couple of days and nothing on the horizon, time to rate the season combined score of wind, swell, ambience and overall fun.
My score: 3
2022 :3
2221 : 3
2020: 9
Years before 8,9,10, 11 etc

As a visiting "Mexican" I had 4 months of fun in the sun sailing and racing with some great people. Yes it probably wasn't a traditional year but I burnt a lot of diesel playing up and down the coast . Really enjoyed Corro's this time on the foil... I still struggle with wave sailing...I get bored . Thanks all

Had an awesome season racing lots of cool people (including Kato) and was pretty knackered by the end of the racing season. Now im only out on the weekend on foils so things have slowed a bit, but its still fun. :)

I give each session a fun score out of 10, average this season was a 8.9, last season 8.1 so I'm more than happy. So many great strong wind days, especially January where I sailed almost everyday. Can't wait for the next season and a few winter storms!

Three years of la nina, no wonder we have sailed less than "normal" and when we do it is in sub-optimal conditions. In Vic the winds have been northeast rather than southwest and weaker. Every 20 or so years the ENSO (el nino southern oscillation), SAM southern annular modulation and IOP (indian ocean dipole) are all three in the part of the cycle that causes these conditions - great for no bushfires, but bad for windsurfing. At least we're expecting a super strong El Nino soon, so back to afternoon seabreezes and warm summer days. See you out there.

2021 was the summer of 9-days over 43deg in a row, one of which was a 49deg day. WA summer can be tough, but that was brutal.

Any day that you get wet, is a 10/10. Anything else is icing on the cake.

That said, a circa 5yrs ago was an 11/10... sailing 30 of 31 days in January ( at Coros )

As a Melbournian who mainly sails slalom from Elwood I gotta say WA is amzong.
from Feb till May I sailed the ocean and the river and had great times with Racing Chris Lockwood. ItMs a great scene with great shops and endless spots to sail. Always warm and mostly windy. Will be back for sure!

ZERO! June normally is a windy month up here. 1 day windsurfing. Plan was to go foiling due to the light wind (F4). Left the foil mast and wing mounting bolts at home. Attached my largest sail (6.5M Cheetah) to the Horue Tiny 110L that I use as foil board. Good time to test out a fin purchased back in the Spring of '22 for the board (MFC H1 38cm) or make the ~40minute round trip drive back to the house. 1 day foiling. Lot of pumping needed. To get up and stay up on the foil.
