Hi all!I am Lucas Nebelung, a Freestyle Windsurfer from Germany and in two weeks I am going to fly to WA for the first time :D Already very excited, but haven't really figured out yet how to get from the Airport to my potential new van at the time of arrival... I am going to arrive at Perth Airport on the 24rd of November at night (0:30) and would somehow have to get to Melville, Perth close to Fremantle (ca. 25mins drive) with two Travel Windsurf Boardbags.... Can anyone recommend an affordable taxi company/uber that would take Windsurf Luggage? Or could anyone even give me a ride? I would of course pay him/her :)
Thanks in advance!Lucas Nebelung
Affordable is all relative these days... last international flight I arrived on landed at midnight. Uber surge charge was in full swing with a ride from airport to Fremantle being quotes at $160. I ended up grabbing a normal taxi for $49. For a maxi taxi (ie a van) expect to pay about double that. From memory for the last maxi taxi from the airport to Mossman Park (about 10 minutes further than Fremantle) I paid $120. That was late night as well. I had two double board bags and a sail bag.
Another option is renting a van or ute from the airport and drop at rental agency in Fremantle or Melville. Budget or Europe Car have those but you need to book early. Their airport locations are closed at 0:30 am so you'll have to see if they do after hour pickup.
If you have a van already just get someone to drop it in the car park at the airport and hide the key somewhere on the car. Just beware that there are two international terminals. Qantas which arrives at T3/T4 and all other international flight arriving at T1.
Can't help with a lift. I am not in town that week.
Hi All,
thanks a lot for your advice and help! Wow, wouldn't have expected 150 Dollars for a Taxi :/ I'm glad to have found someone who would be able to pick me up :)
