Windfoil racing at Mounts Bay Sailing Club (MBSC)

Apologies for the short notice but with the lifting of some restrictions from Sat 6th Mounts bay is keen to initiate Windfoil racing for winter and the coming season.
This Sunday the club will host the first of a series short course races beginning at 1.30pm.

This is open to all Young and old who are keen to get into racing.
The club is keen to support Windfoil and as such we would like to extend an invite to
Anyone who wants to get into racing this new exciting class.
The intention is to have a bit of a meet and greet (as well as a sail if the wind permits) this Sunday so we can form a contacts base.
It's an ideal opportunity to meet some of the local legends such as Arthur Brett and Darryl Griffiths and pick their brains for tips on technique and equipment choices.
Please note if you feel your current gear isn't suited to racing don't worry we will consider running divisions for free ride style foils as well.

I will endeavour to provide up dates from time to time via this thread.

This Sunday we are proposing to have another foil day at Mounts bay.
The program will focus on training and not actual races this Sunday.
On water coaching will probably be lead by Arthur Brett/Darryl Griffith.
We are hoping to Have a camera on board for some post sailing analysis.
All are welcome.

Kick off from 12 with 12.30 on the water.

Thanks for the invite Snides. We will be back in 2 weeks. ( Don't tell Pete, but what we were looking at in those pictures was Caleib actually foiling in between those glassy patches)

Great work, just a pity the wind do not play

Don't forget Fremantle Sailing Club is hosting the Huck Scott Regatta this weekend. Not only is the forecast looking good but a solid foiling fleet racing at these events is a great advert for windsurfing and foiling to youth sailors. There is a solid Bic Techno fleet building in WA and we want to keep them windsurfing. Foiling is the next step from a Techno.

Trust me they are watching and desperate to get out of an optic, 420 or 29er and into foiling so we need to put on a good show. Get in contact if you have any questions or ideas Info@windsurfingwa.org.au

Yes thanks organising it Snides. Hopefully in two weeks time we'll get enough wind to get flying and to take advantage of Arthur's knowledge. I'm keen.

As sailing clubs are a lot more organised and reliable than Windsurfers - REGISTRATION CLOSES TONIGHT for HUCK SCOTT.

Edit
Please ensure you have a PFD and also we will make Helmets mandatory shortly.
In addition you will need unique sail numbers clearly legible on both sides of the sail.
Current membership at a AS recognised sailing club and/or WWA I's also needed.
Sign on and off on each race day.

Sunday's race was a mission in winds gusting to 25knots with a fairly large river chop making racing difficult.
We only had a small turn out but I recon the guys enjoyed the challenge none the less.
1.Snides
2.Matt Harscamp
next Sunday I will have a sports photographer coming down and weather permitting a drone up as well.

Lets get a real good turn out down this week people. MBSC has gone to an effort to include us so we can race, so it would be good if we could get a big fleet down, have a race and put some money over the bar afterwards while telling stories. Cheers to Snides and MBSC for putting on the racing. :D

Ok its on again this Sunday and the forecast is looking iffy ! Again
We had a pro sports photographer down last week and will do so again this Sunday.
Pics from last week still to come.

Last week the wind didn't really show up until we had canned the racing.
However 2 guys got out and had some air time.
