Hi all,
Just wondering if an 8m wing is too big?
Does anyone own one and what are your thoughts on it? What is the wind range? 6 to 15knts is what is a on the starboard site but maybe the right gear and rider might be needed.
Thank you
I am getting an f-one cwc 8m after trying it at the beach. People 20kgs lighter than me were going in 8-15 winds on 6m wings but I was not. The 8m wasn't a miracle, still had to pump it but at least I had a chance. I had 4-5 of these sessions already so decided to pull the plug.

Thanks for that. I'm just under 90kg and also looking for an advantage. But 8m might be a overkill. Yesterday was at the beach with the family, wind was a steady 10knts and I was thinking wouldn't it be great to welll.... just abandon them and hit the water on an 8m. It's been a long off season and I need to get back to the water.
Yeah, same weight here. Also check out this recent video
Thanks, very interesting video.
Seems like the wing to have for my area, as 80% of my foil time is sub par wind.
The thing that holds me back from getting the CWC 8m is my fantasy/fear of that wing coming available in Allula. And of course this would happen the day after I purchase the regular version. And since I'm dreaming the Allula CWC 8m would also have new ridged handles too be the ultimate low wind wing...
(Until next year's model :/)
Edit; Oops I missed that this thread is about the Airush 8m
Better off kiting
A sport I still not have tried. On the list but can't find any schools in my local area and it's a rarity to see them flying.
What's minimum conditions can you get out on?

I have an airush v2 8m - 100kgs - love it - i'd say that is accurate on the website ref wind range - i find it gives me good resistance to pump onto foil against compared to smaller wings - more to throw around in transitions as you would expect but very doable - i kite also - find the 8m more fun in those lower speeds at mo than big kite 17m etc - have also rode swells with wing parked etc - i think if you're a bigger person or like power they are a good buy - I have the 7 also - another great size that has a bit less on the low end but has more range at the top end compared to 8 - in summary, happy i got one
Website says the Airush Freewing v2 8m weights 4kg. Does anyone know how that compares to the Strike CWC 8m?

Was talking about kite foiling. 17m kites suck even more wang than big wings - little point to them now. But yeh hey if it floats your boat I say go for it man. Awesome.
I tried a few 6 and one 7 in the past and never get the feeling it was a significant gain over my 5m. Too big, tips touches...hard to pump. I however get convinced to buy the 7m strike cwc(cwc is the 6,7,8m) after a few in the area posted very good reviews. I guess you can considering it's a v3 since they did it after the strike.(5m and less) If airush did a good job with their v2, you won't regret, I'm blown away. I'm 75kg and can use it with my 1325foil in much less wind than my 1800cm and a 5m and you can still jump and do moves with it...it's not like a 7 or a 8m in windsurfing where you need a super big fin, large board and everything is super heavy. I think the sport is evolving pretty fast, I was up there with only kitefoilers yesterday, a few wingding with 5 and 6 that was foiling maybe 10% of the time...I was on foil about 90% of the time...and some kitefoilers did some long swimg as well...wind do shut down when it's that lite here. So go for it if it's a good v2!!!
