Thumbs Up

Got a 580 a while's ago but wind didn't really work for it since I picked it up, so took it out today on Perth NE's on the river.

can't really find much fault with it, with the dart 140 tail it is nicely balanced at any speed, it holds up a bit more prior to stalling which means I can comfortably tack it even in lighter conditions, whereas the 725 would often drop straight out. Starts are easy as or marginally easier than the 725.

Not as fast as I expected but it wasn't cranking conditions, happily does 20kt though.

i think the 580 and 880 could work as a two foil quiver but would still be on the fence in getting rid of the 925. And will have to experience the 580 in surf to be sure, i do love the 725 on a madhouse day.

It seems like there's a big gap between the 580 and the 880. From what I've read, the wind is cranking (at least 20kts+) before the 580 comes out. How much wind can you manage comfortably with the 880?
Thanks, -s.

If you have a 180 tail, try it with the 580 with one red shim. I'm finding that set up consistently 1-2 knots faster (peak speeds). Seems counterintuitive, but...

To me, the 140 has an edge on acceleration.

In the waves the 580 is hands down my favorite foil to date in their line up.
