Hello,
I'm looking for a new 5m (to replace bagged out Takoon). I have a cabrinha Mantis v2 in 4m. I like it but it does have a tendency for the bottom of the wing to suck to the rail of the board sometimes. There is a test I found online where some testers mention this. Not a big deal, but do V3 owners also recognize this? Or is this gone with this version?
From the test v2:
" In flat water conditions the power of the Mantis certainly inspires you to start racing your peers, and whilst the forward drive of the wing is always there, be careful not to let the wing drop. There were a few reports that the extra speed seemed to suck the lower wing tip under the leeward rail of the board, even catching the water's surface. "
The v3 cabrinhas are one sale now so they come cheap . If you have other suggestions to check out please let me know. Thanks!
Ps there is an older post about the v2-v3 but I cannot reply to it anymore..
Friends use the 5m V3 Mantis. They love the handles, easily accessible bottom end, top end not great, flags well, no mention of sucking into leeward rail on 5m. I've got 7m V3, and of same opinion except wing tip has hit water but that might be due more to big size in choppy water.
