Hi!
How is it with Duotone Boards and using other foil brands? Specially looking for sky free and style 2024 combined with axis foils! Is this gonna work or not that nice or total disaster? If it's possible what do consider? Any shim rec?
Thanx Dave!
Seems I have to answer a bit by myself. I tested some stuff. New Skybrid 6'0" with SF 1180 and ArtPro 1201 in lighter conditions. 5m2 and 6m2 Handwing, UltraShortadvanced+ and Skinny 45. Both worked good but 1201 was better because of more speed.
2nd sky style Sls 85l with SF900 3.5 Handwing in 20 to 30 knots. Was OK but a bit challenging because I started to go subliter (95kg). As I started to adapt more and more during session it was cool. But at least I got the feeling an slightly baseplate shim would be fine. Always felt like the nose is a bit pointing upwards. But I am not pretty Familiar with this shim thing. Maybe some got ideas!?
Plenty of riders down here in Tassie have Axis with Fanatic and Duotone boards. No problems using arts and spitfires.
I always find it takes a few sessions to settle in when doing swaps of foils . Usually a bit of trimming in the box by max 1cm at a time will get things sorted.
Fwiw I know guys with both SAB and Armstrong riding the Fanatic/Duotone boards. In 2023 they moved the boxes forward for more brand compatibility. I expect they will add long tracks this year, but that's just me on the couch guessing.
