F4 GP Series
188cm 82kg
I have been riding the Gp series from F4 foils now for over a year and love them. Here are some of my thoughts and experiences riding the Gp foil range.
The Gp 760 Is a speed machine with what feel like a limitless top end, great pitch control and awesome manoeuvrability at speed. I love to wing and downwind the 760 when conditions are moving a bit faster and powered up. 760cm2 92cm wings span
The Gp 1000 is my favourite foil and if I could only ride one foil this would be it. It does it all from light wind winging to endless pumping. The range of this foil is incredible, with a low end that suits down wind paddle ups in marginal conditions and a top end that can keep up with ocean swells sending it down wind. The Gp 1000 is a pump and glide machine with no sacrifice in manoeuvrability. 1022cm2 100cm wing span
The Gp1450 is an absolute session saver, wether it's surf suping in minimal conditions or winging in sub 10knots this foils has it sorted. I can flat water paddle up and pump the Gp1450 for 500m, link 5 waves in the surf on the sup and is defiantly to go to when conditions are light. The Gp 1450 is very controllable on the take off with turns and carves that will leave you wanting to push harder and harder. I feel like this a really nice foil to learn any of the foil discipline. 1428cm2 100cm wingspan

Have been on the GP series for a bit more than a year as well. Using the 95 and a 101 mast.
Very stiff, and slim, masts. This is something they have from windfoil racing experience, and it has of course the same benefits in winging. Freeride or racing, good glide and a stiff setup is always preferable??

For front wings I have the 580, 760, 815 and 1000 Hoki. And a Wahoo 700. A friend of mine has the 1450, so i have tried that a few times as well.

The 1450 is super easy to ride. My friend is a beginner, and feels very comfortable on it. And I find it fun to use as well. You can tack it any time in any condition, and always be sure of coming out dry. And it is not slow either. 23 knots avg 2 sec. The stiffness in the setup makes it comfortable to push the big wing.
Might have to get one myself for the very light wind sessions.

For the 1000 I agree with you. Very versatile, and respond good to pumping. It is also the wing i use if i want to try to learn something new, as the low stall speed makes it very forgiving.

How do they preform in waves?

I myself do mostly flat water and choppy conditions.
And are better at blasting and manouvers, than flagging out and staying on the small wind swell we have here in the fjords.

But the GP 815 and 1000 is used a lot in waves. Check out Mauiwiiing and guidoferrer on Insta.

Do you think the 580 would work well for racing plus either the 95 or 101 mast?

For racing i believe the wahoo 540 is a better choice.

The 580 is very slippery, and goes up to a certain speed with very little power needed. It also lifts very early for its size.
And it goes upwind like crazy.
But push it for max speed and it gets a little "twitchy". I would guess it is too high aspect for pure speed.

The Wahoo 540 would be much better suited for racing. And stable at speed. So far i only have the Wahoo 700, but i can say that the Wahoo 700 is easier to push for speed than the 580.

95 or 101 mast? I have the 95 plate mount and the 101 with tuttle. And waiting for the 75l R-board.

Pros and cons with the tuttle/plate. But i prefer tuttle.
The extra 6cm of mast does not matter much for me, but thats probably because I dont go very fast if there is big chop.

Cheers,
?yvind
