I was looking at this Ginxu pro 2. I'm currently on a north seek 4'10 78L. I would like to size down. But a 62L is 5'3 in length. I do some freestyle, and was thinking... a longer narrower board... I don't know.
But this board is advertised also as being good for freestyle.
Anyone tried this already? I don't want to open another thread, that's why I ask it here.
90 kg here on the 62L. LOVE this board. Super efficient, tracks are perfectly positioned even for Armie foils (long and far forward). Light, crisp, direct. Best board I've owned yet. Great jumper.
Greeting from the Austrian lakes!
I am thinking to buy a KT GInxu Pro 2 in 92L. Informations on that board a rare over here and surfers with that specific board are even less!
I would need a bit more infos on the shape / sizes of the board, as i have to squeeze it into my campervan which has limited space! The board has to fit in a kind of tunnel, and i am not sure if this works out!
could someone with that board make photos from above and from the side with a ruler running more or less straight from Nose to Tail! This would be a really really great help!
Thx a lot!
I have my SuperK 6.5x22x92l a while now and I,m in love.
I used it in everything from flatwater to 3m+ Atlantic waves in Brandon Bay-Ireland with wings from 5.5 in very light wind to maxxed out with a 3.5 where I should have been on a 2.5 or something like that. My specs: 188x98kg, 50y old strapless riderFoils: AFS Pure 1100+Silk1050+Silk850.Boards I can compare to: AK Phazer 5.6x27x90l V2 and my current KT Wingdrifer5.4x22x56l, Sunova Casey Elite 7.6x23x137 DW supfoilboard
Construction:Top quality and really stiff. You feel really connected with the foil. The only thing I missed was a small patch of a pad to stick on the nose (like they do with the DW boards)
Balance:
Although the board is 22 wide I find the SuperK more table as my 5.6 Phazer because of the extra length. It makes the board less tippy. Volume distribution is spot on.
Low end:Here the longer more slender shape helps as well. As soon as you sit on your knees and put the wing up it start to accelerate, just like my Sunova DW board. When pumping the board gets easy on speed and even quicker on the foil as my DW board. It allows me to ride smaller foils in lower winds. When I have a touch down it simply bounches up due the round front bottom.
high end:
Because less width it feels still very controllable, even in nukin conditions. I think I can easily sell my 5.4x56l as this board does everything.
Freestyle: No comment. I can jibe and tack on every side and angle, but freestyle is not my cup of tea.
Waveriding:
Thats what drives me! Because its less wide there is way less need to reposition your feet in a turn, I really liked that on my 5.4 Wingdrifter and this board feels the same.
In very small waves the extra length is noticeable when turning really tight, but doesnt really bother me. There is so much you can tighten up a radius with a foil. In bigger waves I love it. The bit extra length gives a lot of support while being less nervous as shorther boards. In big waves you make wider turns anyway so there are imo only bonuses. When you crash in bigger waves, the getting out quicker, easier to punch through whitewater helps a lot compared to my former Phazer 5.6.
Happy? 200%
I owned boards in the past that didnt make me happy and sold those within 3 months. Sometimes its just a mismatch and i,m not afraid to accept that, but this is a keeper.

Wow never seen you this happy ! That's an encouraging review!!
Its really that good!
Especially in combination of my AFS Silk 1050. I really think that at least for now my set is perfectly dialed in.

How much do you weight? How do you find the surface stability? Where does all of the volume benefit you? I want a board with similar dims, but lower volume as I find that much volume works against me in challenging surface conditions. I'm on the Silks too.
I,m 188cm and 97/98kg, but with a 5/3wetsuit like I wear now probably a 100kg.
Boards can be too corky, but this one isnt (at least not for me).
The volume and extra length making stable enough to stand in very very little wind while slogging and getting me earlier going as most+ being way more stable so I can punch through a 2m wave where a shorter/wider board wouldn't let me.
I really really like to use my Wingdrifter 5.4x22x56l board when its windy, but the quicker getting going here in proper waves has soo much advantage I haven,t grabbed it.
Even with a 3.5 powered the SuperK was just super.
That is another thing: What I really liked with the Wingdrifter is the direct connection feel with the foil due the thin board and stiff hull. The SuperK is thicker, but feels really really stiff and direct.

Light wind day with a KT Super K 92. For a light weight rider it could easily work as a winter time board that floats well and is super fun to ride in light winds, at full speed, when even formula windsurf boards with 10m2 sails don't have a chance to get going. 4.6 m2 wing here in this clip, and nearly twice as small foil as others have.

Hi Jeroensurf, thanks for your review! I'm surprised you statement about light wind performance....Will you sell your Sunova Casey Elite 7.6x23x137 DW to keet the SuperK 92 L ??
No, because i love the Sunova for supfoiling and learning to DW supfoil. That I could wing it was just an bonus but not why I bought it.

Hello, where do you put the SILK 1050 in the rails?
I have a silk 850. Do you think this is a good combo with 60 litres superk?
I ride strapless and prefer a bit of frontfoot, so what suits me, might be completely off for some else. There are 2 other guys in at my homespot with the same board and foil...and everybody seems to ride the mast in a diff place. The SuperK makes getting up the foil quicker/easier, so yes in general I think a board like that suits smaller spanned foils very well.
Had my first go on my 92 litre on the weekend, 12-18knts, started on 6m slick, then 4.5. Riding Axis SF840 and 360/50 skinny.
I have the base plate set on the 3cm ?, mark at the tail of the board.
Blown away how quick the board comes up once it starts moving, I honestly think I will ultimately be able to down size a front wing as it generates lift speed so well. Also very responsive, gives away nothing to my 70 litre sinker.
First day super K, good feelings, I had to move the mast back compared to the photo, I used a 1 degree wedge and I don't know if it helped or made it worse. The 60 liters is a slightly unstable board for its size, I suppose because of its round shape at the bow. I still liked it and I think it has potential.
Nope, because of the 19.5 width.Still very happy with the wingdrifter 5.4x22x56l for when it is really really windy.

Well it doesn't exist, so it can be whatever width you want! I was thinking 20" would be ideal. Want the shape and length - don't want the volume. Thinking of having a custom built if I have to.
@Ursus,On my 92 SuperK I don,t need any mast or stab shimming with both Silks, Enduro and Pure1100.
I will try without ahumado next sesion, Thal?a you

I have a custom kt board I've used all year. 5.4 by 19 59l. It's based on a pre prod super k shape ( doesn't have the ginxu step). I wanted a 5.5 length maximum and I think they just took the super k shape at my desired length and made it a bit thicker to get to the volume I wanted. I've liked this shape a lot. It's a one board quiver and works in everything but the absolute lightest. I know omen is close to releasing a new line of boad with similar dims as well
I can see it work for lighter and or smaller guys, but i,m 188cmx97kg, shoesize 47/(us13) .A 19.5 will be really deep in the water or very thick to stuff in the volume and with that quick to rol from side to side. With a lower centre of gravity that seems to be less of a problem as when you are higher up.I can see the benefits once on the foil, but they are to me less then the downsides when not.
I'm really loving my 92L! Had my 3rd session yesterday. First two at sea in wavy conditions, and 3rd session on the lake. My weight is 75, and came from a 80L KT wingdrifter and a AK Nomad 115L. Both boards have pluses and minuses, and the 92L sits in the middle and overcomes all the minuses thus far. This could be my 1 board for all. 92L is great for LW wing. But it does fantastically well in 1m-1.5m waves.
The thing that keeps laughing each time is the rediculous instant take off. In 2meters I'm up! It feels direct. Each session I'm out there I'm gaining confidence. My tacks even came back, after having been away for half a year or so!
Also the round front underside.. you just know you'll bounce of the water immediately.
First session the only thing I had to get used to, is that it felt more wobbly (than any of my previous boards) to get from both knees to one knee to standing up. Footstraps! The new V strap from MFC.. what a dream!! Love the numbered adjustment settings inside the strap! I'm ride the footstraps in centered position, and the foil underneath in centered position. Everything feels perfect.
This thread definitely inspired me! Thanks all for sharing your info and impressions!
