Wings are becoming more specialized, which is great, but let's avoid repeating the mistakes made in windsurfing ;)
?si=Pv-zLYcNwECwHqUyI think will end up with race, freestyle & wave wings, foils and hopefully boards. no need for square boards in race or wave
The Americas Cup was won on North Sails, but they do not have one single serious rider in the wingfoil racing series. But they also lack presence in my whole home area. 2023 there were 2 or 3 7xm Pro Wings from summer guests popping up, but 2024 absolutely zero.
The DP Wing looks very balanced, no flutter even in the strut area. Go for it North !

Will ask Sean to comment himself but I believe he was on:
HA550v1
C700
S178
HM105
The current HA550 is still a pretty fast front wing compared to what else is out there on front wings for fully modular foil systems.
I think Sean's latest top speed is 35.7kn with the HA550v1

Does anyone know if there is any real world collaboration between the north action sports design team and the design resources within the larger north sails? Or do they operate more or less as independent entities under the same branding/marketing?

From what I understand north action sports works with the north composites & materials branch to develop new materials for winging and kiting.
^^^ at various times in this video they talk about the crossover with North. in terms of materials and expertise.
Hey guys,
Appreciate the positive feedback on the video!
I am currently riding the North Sonar with the HA550, S178, C700, HM105. All bolted to the Seek 68L and the hand wing is a production Mode Ultra with an additional modified partial skin.
As Uli highlighted earlier, I recently achieved 35.7 knots with a 10s average of 34.2 knots! For a fully modular foil system which is an un-molded bottom end that is impressive.
Cheers

How much difference in speed is gained by the new partial double skin vs the stock single skin version?

Who did the mod ? North or a local sail maker as a proto ?
Speed gain is noticeable but the main gain is in height upwind, climb to windward underneath a single skin same speed while being degrees higher.
Modification was by North Foils, this is a prototype.
