Looking for some feedback from anyone who's pulled the trigger on a V4 Smik wing, there's not much (any?) user reviews online yet. I'm a pretty big fan of the V3 Smiks (have a 4.0 and 6.0). I know the V4 is a bit flatter profile with a bit of a tweak of the fabric materials & orientations - does that result in any noticeable change on the water?

Feels to me like the Smik wings are still a pretty decent choice in 2024 - good canopy tension, and a bit cheaper than some of the alternatives. But they seem to fly under the radar a bit. Thoughts?

I would also be curious to have some feedback from people who have or have moved from V3 to V4.
I will certainly have to complete my 6m? V2 which I use to start with a Wing of 7m? and a smaller WIng (4.5m? or 5m?) and I would like to have this feedback to know if the difference is that significant between V3 and V4 or if I can take advantage of promotions on V3 to relieve my finances....

I'm a big fan of SMIK wings and have been riding them for almost three years now. I fell in love with the V2 and had a quiver of 3.5/4.0/5.0/6.0/7.0 at some point. The 6.0 was my favorite. They all feel smaller in your hands and behave superb in overpowered conditions. I bought the 7.0 for super lightwind days, but quickly sold that one again as I found the wingspan makes it very hard to pump without touching the water.
When the V3 came along I first was hesitant to make the switch as I quite liked the handles in the V2, but decided to make the change for my 4.0 and 6.0. I loved the small one from te start, but never got big friends with the 6.0. To me it felt a bit big and heavy and I think that's largely due to the deeper profile. A couple of months ago when the V4 arrived in Europe I got myself a 5.0 and 6.0.
And they are FANTASTIC!! For me the differences between the V3 and V4 are significant. The slightly flatter profile makes them great in overpowered conditions (again), but the 6.0 is also great in lighter winds. I don't know what it is, the change of canopy material, the profile or the panel design, but with this wing Scotty really nailed it.

in conclusion: I would advise anyone to buy a V4 instead of the V3

ps. I also still love my V2 3.5 wing when it's blasting

I'm looking at getting a 3m. Can anybody comment on the wind range an general usability of that size, and the V4 in general?

I'm looking for something to ride in the 30-50 knot range. Those days can be kind of turbulent with lulls down around 20 knots so a small wing has to be doable in quite light winds. I've tried other small wings and they either have no bottom end, or are stupidly twitchy when it gets gusty and/or strong.

At the moment I'm riding an ultra-ragged out 4m that handles anything I throw at it. The downside is that it can be very slow riding along with lots of wind and lots of power. I'm hoping a smaller more efficient wing would be a bit faster and more dynamic in crazy conditions.
