Hi Guys I recently bought a second hand board with some battle scars.it was exactly the board I wanted but there are not many of these available so I contacted Jade from greenwell point DSN NSW south coast and asked his opinion and he did all the repairs I am so glad I did What an amazing job some times it's worth taking the risk Do you have any similar experiences
I did a similar thing to an orange kalama but turned it totally custom with graphics and colors. The amount of work put in was miserable from a DIY standpoint so I would never do it again! Looks like yours came out nice!
I refurbished my first good kite foil board. 5' 40L
I removed straps and deck pad, sanded off all the paint, repaired a bunch of voids/delam in the deck. Put a layer of light glass over the top, added a leash plug so I could use it for wingdinging. Painted it all white, with water based polyurethane, and new deck pad.
It was easy to do and I learned a fair bit. It ended up a fair bit heavier. I didn't want to mess with re-glassing over the tuttle box and the extra layer of glass and resin added a bit of weight.
The extra weight doesn't matter in use. It looks good and works really well. It's as tough as old boots.
