Hi all, I am traveling to Perth in July and would appreciate any info on the local launching spots please.

Thanks in advance!

Pretty much just river as any wind is likely to be dead onshore in winter

Applecross - end of Cunningham St or end of Ardross St

Pelican point (river) is a decent spot all year round, however as Mark said it will likely be a N, NW, or W direction (as it has been here for a long time now) which results in very gusty unpredictable frontal conditions. You can try north-of-the-river beaches (Cottesloe, Dutchies, Port Beach) for more stable wind conditions, but still be prepared frontal conditions and pretty messy sea states.

The river is a good safe bet in winter. I do feel like the frontal winds hit a bit weaker and are more up and down on the river though. Also there's no waves in the river. The spots already mentioned are all good options depending on wind direction.
The main issue with winging in the ocean during Perth winters is the seaweed. The wind direction is often very onshore but really it's the seaweed that is the deal breaker. It does come and go a fair bit though so some days can still be good.

As you go north of the river you get a good amount of swell during the winter storms. Some days are bit too big to get out easily but some days are fun with some nice waves. The best ocean spot with waves is south Cottesloe. There's a few reefs that break up the swells and can make it easier to get out. You will also find other wingers there if conditions are decent. Alot of the other beaches north of the river are not very wingable during winter as the beach breaks/ dumpy shorebreaks make it very difficult to get out.
South of the river can have some fun days in winter. A lot less waves than north of the river but still can be some fun waves/ bumps. The best spot south of the river is woodmans point. A long point around 2 to 3 kms long with beaches on 3 sides. You can wing here in most wind directions and can be a fun option in gnarly storms. Can be shallow in some spots and is a high theft risk area.
have fun and remember great white sharks are only a problem if they bite you otherwise no worries!!
