Last week in Baha California and female Kiter, Christina Brockius was injured in a terrible kiting accident in La Ventana.

She fractured her c2-5 vertebrae, was paralysed and sustained brain death. She was airlifted to OHSU in Oregon but passed away on the 12th december without ever regaining consciousness.

She was an experienced kiter and well known in the Hood River community and she left behind a partner and children as well as many friends who will miss her.

her accident was unwitnessed.

Please be careful when you are out on the water. Even the most experienced kiters can be hurt. And whenever you walk out your front door when the wind is calling you make sure you tell the person you leave behind how much you love them.

Wow, that article/obituary is well worth reading.

What a huge loss, but the story of her life is very inspirational.
My fave - 'Life's too short to be in a bad mood.'

Very sad story, but what a life packed full of brilliance, activity and humanity.
