My friends 2 kids were swimming upriver about 30 km from the coast at Gladstone 2 days ago.Her boygot one string on his leg but 9 year old rachel got totally wrapped up on her legs.It is the only survival at the hospital from such a sting and they are calling it a miracle.Luckily there was vinegar at hand and it was applied to release the stingers. As it was she died and was revived a few times but has now come out of her coma and she will be ok.Her father is an environmental scientist and says that the jellyfish are sofar up river because there are no turtles to eat them.Who knows, but Rachel is alive,Watch out and this christmas lets all appreciate our children, but for the grace of God go I .

Fantastic outcome with the girl looking to be ok, I didn't realise turtles ate jellyfish - pretty cool.. A useless buit of trivia: the collective noun for a group of jellyfish is a smack.
