Tuesday January 12th, North Cott/ Swanbourne, 18:00hrs...
Thank you to the guys who assisted me in bringing my board in, much appreciated
Story: My kite lines got heavily crossed and jammed, causing me to t bag rather aggressively...
I did get it under control for a while, but eventually needed to fire the release, thinking the emergency was connected correctly (it obviously was not), and off to the ocean goes the kite.
It's black with red struts, 11m, 2010 model...
If you do happen to see it, please be in touch: Tim on 0400 55 00 55.
Again, thanks to the fellow kiters who assisted.
No worries Tim, last we saw it was heading out to sea and about 2km off Swanbourne/City beach, Dan from Swan SLC was in contact with both water police who were aware of the kite and worried about your whereabouts and CBSLSC. I spoke to them and explained that you were safe on the beach. Pity we could not grab kite, hopefully it turns up. Regards Dennis
And, delighted to hear from Marcus tonight... My kite was found on the wall at Hillary's Boat Harbour, so will be heading north on the weekend to pick up, with the obligatory wine/ beer donation to Marcus.
Evidently a bit torn, but nothing that cannot be repaired by all accounts!
T H A N K - Y O U, M A R C U S. And, thank you Sea Breeze for Forums
He will no doubt be assured good kiting and great parks for the rest of the year!

Just a bit of advice with the ids (2009) and the idsx (2010) bar safety system the pin/landing line loop is designed to fail under a certain pressure to comply with euro satety standards (i believe).
All the other Cabrinha riders attach their safety to the ring on the landing line, rather than the metal part of the chicken loop. Then if you pop your QR1 (red push away below the bar) you do not to loose the kite if its under stress even if the pin/velcro gives under pressure.
And if you need to you loose the whole rig you can still ditch the safety on your leash.
Hope the repairs go well!!
Hey! Thanks Todd. Now I understand, it didn't make sense that the whole rig went AWOL , ....on the basis that its DESIGNED to fail (interesting in itself)... at least I know now what I did at the time of 'stress' was at least not incorrect/ semi correct!
Great advice, thanks
