Lenny and Naish star in extreme sports short featuring SUP!

Masters of stand up paddling Robby Naish and Kai Lenny are stars in the latest short from Jon Long, showcasing the cultural revolution of extreme sports and the way that participating in them, makes you feel truly alive.

Full of incredible footage of the most extreme sports on earth (including stand up paddling of course!) this short film was premiered last month at the Newport Film Festival, and is set to be released online via Vimeo soon for all to see. Director Jon Long was the guy who made the IMAX movie ‘Extreme’ back in 1998, which was similar featuring big wave surfing, a little windsurfing and lots of snowboarding. Grossing more than $10 million US while it was playing in cinemas, Long’s last movie could most definitely be deemed a success.

“The search for freedom is the story of a cultural revolution fueled by the human desire to live in the moment and do what makes you feel the most alive. We discover how an electrifying new world came about through pure energy and imagination and the infinite possibilities of self-expression available to anyone willing to drop in.”

Kai Lenny, and the guy many have mistaken for his father, Robby Naish are two athletes synonymous with the sport of stand up paddling and obvious choices when selecting representatives. Their surfing speaks for itself too, as you can see in the trailer below. Look out for the short film ‘The Search for Freedom’ online to see some spectacular footage of extreme stand up paddling, as well as the rest of the sports thrill seekers enjoy today.
