I believe we should accelerate the change to renewables as quickly as economically possible. I found it interesting that even though I don't personally believe that a full transition will be possible for many decades yet, apparently the lion's share of the Australian grid (everything except WA and NT) ran for 10 minutes at greater than 50% supply from alternative means the other day ................. I personally find that pretty impressive.

The human induced climate change movement should acknowledge the efforts of Mao Zedong and the Chinese Communist Party from 1949 to the mid 1970s. This man and the organisation he lead did more than the rest of the world combined before or since to combat human induced climate change. By destroying the Chinese economy and making the Chinese amongst the poorest people in the world in the most populous nation in the world, they greatly limited the amount of greenhouse gasses emitted into the atmosphere. It was truly a remarkable achievement, even if it was purely accidental.

Unfortunately once the CCP started relaxing the regulations stifling the economy and people started working and getting rich, emissions increased and kept rising till we get to the point China is the nation with the largest emission of greenhouse gasses by a long shot.

TonyAbbott said..The evidentiary foundation is that natural climate change has been happening for billions of years, do you need evidence of this?
Evidence that I am making good points is that you personally attack me.

TonyAbbott said..My arguement is that most of climate change is from natural causes,

Well that's just your problem, it's only an argument without any evidentiary foundation.

Contrary to your evidence free argument, it's well documented that the vast majority of forcing factors for the warming we measure is not "natural" but due directly to industrial greenhouse gas emissions and other secondary effects such as permafrost melting leading to methane release.

I could also argue that you are a rotten turnip, and it would have just as much validity using your methodology.

So, I submit via baseless argument that you are nothing but a rotten turnip.

That's not evidence for what's happening now - no. It does however fit your narrative.

It would be a personal attack if it was true. Clearly you are not a rotten turnip, but you are not quite ready to accept the science we are discussing.

Good find Pete. Of course there was no internet back then to spread the doom and gloom. 1975 - seems like only yesterday.
