Anyone else addicted to hot sauce?
Chicken wings with some Louisiana Wing Sauce and a bit of melted butter is pretty darn tasty.
Also love Cristal, the Tabasco Habanero/Chipotle/Original, Louisiana. Slap your mama is pretty good too.
Any others that I should try?

You can't buy hot sauce, or food of any kind, in Oz. I make my own.

Kaitaia Fire is pretty good - the Habanero Sauce is good, and the Kiwifruit flavoured one is also pretty bloody nice

Woolies and channel 9 have a TV show called recipe to riches, some episodes ago they had a hot sauce called "Smoked Sauce"win the episode. Its pretty good, chilli and garlic but the chillies were smoked in the cooking process.

I love this stuff but haven't been able to find it here in OZ.

When friends travel to the US I get them to bring me back some. If you have friends traveling to Vegas get them to bring you back some. Not only is the stuff hot it has some amazing flavor.

This stuff is good too - not strictly a sauce but I use it like one , my work colleagues in China go me hook onto it on my last couple of visits - I have found it here in the local Asian grocery store. Comes in different flavors, Black Bean, Pork, Plain and my fav. Chicken.

As chef said, and hence his username - (he knows his sh!t - especially when it comes to cooking up a feed that brings beads of sweat to the forehead and clears the house the next day...not to mention the pain, oh the burning pain ) - Usa Foods have a good supply of gear - I've been dragged there twice now (as designated driver), and although I'm not a 'foody', I can appreciate the range. See below for the hot sauce range...

Hey Sailhack, if you have trouble with pain the next day, head to maccas, buy some of their 50c ice creams, take them into their toilet.
You'll work out the rest from there.....

Without a doubt Frank's is the best stuff going, sure there is hotter stuff but it's not all about a race to the point you can't take it anymore it's about being just hot enough.
Frank's is special in that it's hot but doesn't have that afterburn where the burn lingers on your lips and tongue and is even worse a moment or two later, Frank's is made from cayenne peppers not habanero. I actually buy it by the gallon which lasts a year or so.
Just tonight Mrs Beagle made Cuban pulled pork tacos, the meat slow cooked all day long in herbs and sauce, corn tortillas, shredded cabbage, sour cream and Frank's, I cannot tell you how good it was
Put some tortilla chips in the microwave the take an individual chip and put some Frank's on it and wash it down with beer
Frank's is actually the original sauce buffalo wings were made with in Buffalo New York.

This stuff is really good too, it's more of a paste. We call it Chinese man sauce because who can read that gibberish? Mrs Beagle puts some of this in abowl with vinegar and we dip potstickers in it.

Peri-peri sauce at a few dollars a bottle is good. Contains very hot South African chillies so use it sparingly.

If you live in WA, give these girls a call.

www.wildfirechilli.com.au/

They have everything from seeds to saplings to fresh dry pods to superhot sauces.
They have a stall in the Canningvale Markets every other weekend.
They fulfil my chilli addiction.

I brew up my own...a dozen Trinidad Scorpion bushes growing around the house makes more than enough death in a jar for all my needs as well as friends and family. My recipe looks pretty similar to the Ghost Train.

Scorpions are the chilies that knocked off the Ghosts as the hottest on record, but frankly they are all stupid hot - and only useful for sauces, it's not as though anyone casually eats them undiluted.

Yeah, thats pretty hot. For easy reference the Thai Birds Eye Chilli peaks at around 100k units.

It's probably similar to the sauce they use on the Worlds Hottest Burger at Off the Wall.

The Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Chilli hits 2 million, so you can imagine trying to eat one.....

I got a funny story about hot sauce tolerance.
A few years ago when my son was about 10 we went to a fair in Bridgetown. One of the stalls had a chilli sauce testing, with 10 plates ranging in heat factor from 1 to volcano. There was a small crowd gathered with most people testing the 4 & 5 rating. My son stepped forward and scooped up some of the Volcanic range chilli sauce in a teaspoon and promptly put it in his mouth and swallowed it.

There was a gasp from the crowd and I was thinking, here we go, wtf. why did you do that, what do I do know?

He replied, nah its not that hot. later his eyes started watering but he still said it wasn't that hot?

I blame The Simpsons for putting these thoughts into his head. but he does have a incredible tolerance to hot sauce.
