I for one am desperate to leaves Victoria for good. Not whining just had enough of Dan Andrews and the nanny state. Seriously, don't even think about trying to start and argument which is what 99% of this forum is. its just a statement of intent.

There seems to be a boom in Qld from people escaping Vic and its not just the rich people. People that are at retirement age are deciding to go to Qld to escape lockdown as they may as well retire somewhere where they have more freedom for the moment.

No ones arguing with you.

Cheers, psychojoe may have some more political points of view but i feel that the vast majority of people are just struggling with no end in sight.
sitting at home watching netflix is not the easy life many think it is.
We need clarification on when the Endless Wave is going to be released so we have something to live for...........

Dan may have let us down but Robby won't.

While you're on Netflix, don't miss Norsemen.
Vikings with modern sensibilities and ways of resolving conflict. Effing hilarious!

When you do get out, I'd keep driving past a couple of borders, we don't need a pandemic as an excuse to be a nanny state here in NSW

If (heaven forbid) I was an "ordinary" Victorian and not an AFL "Demi God" or a slow talking Queenslander I would be seriously p1zzed off at the entitled attitude and garbage approach of the Qld Government in order to gain a football match that most people don't give two sh***s about.

400 Officials and families.........Why effing families, why do they need to be have their snouts in the trough whilst the average Victorian is doing it tough.

I didn't open the article but good luck to them and their families. If I could leave I would too. I don't begrudge anyone with the good fortune to do so.

On a side note. Last night my four year old girl said she's gonna burn this house down because she wants to go back to Perth.

Exactly.
It is absolute insanity.
AFL players' whole families are allowed to cross the border, yet they deny four young kids the chance to go see their dad before he dies.

You might not be from an AFL state, but I like the fact that they're still playing. I don't know, but maybe they're entertaining a couple of million people? The socialista ethos is that everyone should be equally (but some more than others) miserable and poor because God forbid the 1% 'go-getters' have more money than me. There's an argument for not donating to African charities because 50% goes to corruption. But 50% does still get to some poor kids before malaria or ebola gets them.
So I dont mind the AFL entertaining us and can live with the fact I have no particularly useful skills; you'd rather spend your lockdown bored silly but happy knowing that we are all equal.
(This might be a HW comment but alas...)

This should make everyone's blood boil.

The original models of the results of not locking down were completely misrepresented.

35,000 hospital admissions was changed to 35,000 ICU admissions. What is truly unbelievable is that no one from the Peter Doherty Institute who had worked on this model spotted the "error".

When another group did spot the error, it wan't fixed.

www.news.com.au/world/coronavirus/australia/coronavirus-australia-mistake-in-covid-modelling-that-informed-lockdown/news-story/ed597d740d845649de9e7b31c123bee7

You will have a lot of trouble convincing me this wasn't deliberate.

The problem with guys like PM33 is that when they support a concept all you anti rationalists will instantly dismiss it for the likelihood that it would be a waste of your time to indepently evaluate the empirical data available.
Guys like him could be part of the reason it took me so long to become an anti lockdown campaigner.

Unfortunately you victorians are in the sh!t at the moment. Regardless of how, why or who is in a leadership position. You people have a job to do, the government, on behalf of all good hearted Australians are asking you to sit on your arse for a couple of weeks/months to beat this virus. If everyone does the right thing you blokes will have this virus under control in no time. Maybe you might be finding it difficult but when you look at the situation of millions of others, living conditions such as Africa, middle east, North korea and other places. I am sure you will see how easy you have it in comparison.

If you continue to have people who are determined to do the wrong thing and flaut the rules, you are going to ruin it for the rest of people doing the right thing. So the next time you have the urge to pull the middle finger at the laws that the government have laid down, think of all the people you could be effecting. The protestors need to pull their finger out and listening to the stories of those who have been effected most, and learn that there are bigger problems than themselves, and marching down the street screaming is achieving f_ck all.

Nobody complained when it was only a couple of weeks, that is only a small infringement on our human rights. It's over six months. It's disproportionate to destroy the lives of five million to save the lives of five hundred. And the advice is not coming from the chief health officer, or even the chief of police, it's just Dan Andrews in his own little mind blaming a super duper computer because there's no one left that's willing to take the fall for his human rights abuses.

At least the lockdown should make people change their public positions on euthanasia. You can't say end the lockdown and accept a few deaths in the elderly because those deaths would have occurred fairly soon anyway, even though those people wish to live as long as possible, while also saying that a few people near the end of their lives who actively wish to die can't shorten their suffering.

Maybe people are starting to realize that the nouveau socialist utopian experiment of Victoria isn't quite the dream they have spent so many years telling everyone that it will deliver.

Perhaps they are starting to come round to seeing how awesome it can be in the Queensland electorate of Dickson with balmy weather and even balmier fun times in the sun, sun, sun ?
