I've flown a trike and it feels like a tractor, you can't land on soft sand, about five grand for course and needs a trailer. Mine is a normal HG so with a normal harness fly the same spots as a PG and the powered harness fits in a passenger seat. Still no where near as portable as PG .
I think you'll find that PG and kitesurfing make a good combo as does HG with windsurfing.

I must admit the trailer deterred me from trikes... I almost got a almost new Redback for $15k, but then u need the trailer... and wtf is the deal with paying rego on a trailer no other country makes u do it!

Also the engine needs frequent maintenance and log or you can't fly.
