As a previous thread has touched upon some cars both old and new are things of absolute beauty, others can be rather nice and practical, whilst some unfortunates are just so damn "pug ugly" one can't help but feel they were designed by someone with a grievance against the company or they had exceeded the dosage of their medication.
The Leyland P76 comes to mind, as does that cube like compact wagon thingy that even by using cute Pandas in the Ads couldn't sell one, it was such a great success that I can't even remember the make.
Maybe we could have categories based on production dates or just omit the "good" and just stick with the "bad and the UGLY"
So . . . . . irrespective of date of manufacture IMHO a possible nominee for the "Ugliest" car ever produced that I have seen goes to the 1950 Austin A90 Atlantic Convertible, a super sleek under powered, three eyed poxy little mutant of motoring.
This one was photographed at Latrobe Tasmania at an Austin Car Club get together.
I have a couple more in mind
The Vanguard was very ordinary looking but the engine was in everything from Massey Ferguson tractors to Triumph sports cars.

Dad had a turtle back Vanguard when I was 4. It got stolen so he upgraded to the Spacemaster.
There was a ute version also. Only in Australia. The ute really is a thing of beauty to those of us with an eye for Vanguards.
Common you guys aren't even trying.
And here's the Nissan Cube mentioned before. It's hard to comprehend. I actually know someone who bought one and no they're not my friend!
Some great ones there fellas... although I have to admit I can't agree on the cube, I think it's in the 'so bad it's kinda good' category..

Those Cubes are pretty good if you need to cart a wheelchair around!
rear hatch opens up [bonus shelter from rain while pushing the wheelchair in], rear suspension lowers, floor drops down, ramp extends,
Might look goofily coolish - but works well, just like the Toyota Porte............which looks the design department were hungover and wanted to go home in a hurry - but jeez it works well for carrying wheelchairs [in several defferent versions.]

Elemental kite school Delica is one ugly as S**T car... Still baffles my why people want them with such more attractive vehicles readily available .
If I was to pick something on Australian roads I'm not a fan of Subarus. I think they are pretty fugly, with the Brumby on top
The Leyland Moke was either very ugly, a death trap or both
Some people love em - I can't:
The Mercedes smart car is damn ugly.
The AMC thing is a shocker - but I I've never seen one on Aussie roads, so I can't really count it.
Any model Prius. The latest Mazda Roadster/MX5... the list is endless. I'd have an ugly car over a bland car any day.

What were they thinking with that triangle window at the back - I could punch that.
It just looks so wrong. The grille the wheels.

didya know that new moke bodies are being made in China!
they are even making an electric version, so Macro' should be chuffed
and, there was a bit of a blurb a while back about a new version of the moke being made in China,
similar body to the original moke, with modern running gear and stuff.

The first Rav 4's were fugly.
Yep but possibly not as ugly as the current one! It's like you've already had a collision in the showroom and the bumper's been shoved upward to resemble a scowl.
Plus any car that has a bonnet edge line that shoves up into the A-pillar instead of running smoothly into the doors is just not right fullstop.
Ugly comes in many forms...
Aesthetics, performance, safety etc.
Proton Jumbuk gets my vote. I shake my head every time I drive past one.
Edit - got the image from a website that offered a "free ATV with every Jumbuk purchase".
First comment on the website was;
"Wouldn't it make more sense to give away a free Proton Jumbuck if you buy the ATV?"

IMO these things win hands down. Whoever designed it must have been taking the p...

They are ugly and none too stable......
Anything from SSangyong, the new Pajero Sport, the Toyota Fortuna, most Lexus', the new Triton, and most the of current Subaru range...
Not that I can afford them (yet...), all models from Range Rover / Landrover look great!
