I think i would like one of those electric surf thingies,
but,
it would have to have throttle control and a lot more power so that it could be smaller and turn faster.
Then it would be awesome fun .
Its only going to be a matter of time , but by then ill need a zimmer frame on mine

What could be absolutely fantastic - sort of bicycle frame with hydrofoils.
So we have the best of both worlds - Jet ski like position and handling + ultra efficient electric power train /motor.Simply speaking motorized hydrofoil bicycle. I wounder if there is already any english word in dictionary for such device ?

But what if the BCF trolling motor was worked fully sick !

In fact we don't really know what exact power in kw we need to get our surfboard flying (planning).
We means me and you possibly, as those people on the movie above has some ideas already.

This days you could buy electric motor with power rating more then 2 kw per kg! But trolling motor have another advantage. Keeps your boat , jet ski shell moving at reasonably safe speed, cost few hundred dollars and you could have project done in few hours.

Then you could go fishing on converted electric jet ski everywhere - including fresh water dams.In fact I will not be surprised if plain trolling motor 1 kw will give your board -specifically wide windsurfing - planing speeds . When we did recent experiment with "scurfing" towing behind boat, you could easy stand on the board and keep line one hand.

No more then few kilo pulling force needed to plain behind boat on windsurfing board.Apply this same 1 kw motor to hydrofoil Moth and will be planning in no time at all. Then we could talk about cost jet ski vs. anything else. Who want to spend 20 -50 liters of petrol per hour ?

Marco I'm sorry in an earlier post I called you a retard. I think spastic might be more accurate.

To be fair ides turn into innovation.
It takes engineers to make the impossible possible.
One of our earliest ancesters would have thought " what will happen if you tug this " and now it's almost a sport

Guy comes on a forum to ask about jet skis.
Bunch of wind riders attack him and tell him his an idiot
Guy registers jet ski
Guy sees wind riders frolicking (most likely holding hands )
Guy drives his newly registered JetSki into a pack of wind riders laughing who's the idiot now
Innocent wind riders hurt. Wind wankers remain hiding behind their keyboards with anaemic skin from lack of iron due to them and their bicycle being on a strictly vegan diet

Fantastic.
Human exert 200-300 watts here .Now with 1 kw motor the same hydrofoil will fly on foils with reasonable speeds. In fact more efficient could be canoe like horizontal position to minimize wind resistance.
