Yeah mate i saw it on the way to work. Was wondering what it was. Didn't look like a jet stream because it tappered off towards the ground...
Wasn't just in the Wangarra area, I saw it while driving into the city, seemed to cross the entire city.
I saw a black shape at the front of it which wasn't moving that fast so i assumed it was a plane but looked like it was vertical
Could of been me after being told my gearbox that would only take 4 days is still not in yet, after 9 days

Emirates, A380 Melbourne to Dubai at 40,000??? early morning flight
I saw it from a different angle to the pic (I didnt take it) much more vert.
It also looked as if it was spinning as it went up as the trail looked like a spiral.
I saw it on Whitfords ave heading East just past Eddystone ave. It trailed right across the skyline then dropped and appeared to spiral downwards towards where the city would be. Was pretty bloody big and really didn't look like vapour from a plane. (Seen plenty when i lived in UK/europe)
Would have got a pic but was on the bike. Almost looked like that meteor trail in Russia just recently. Obviously not as it would have been plastered all over the news.
Nothing much happening in Perth lately?
Na, same old thing going on here. Chemtrails etc
I think its got something to do with what I saw in the sky about a month ago. (refer to the 'Fire in the Sky' thread)

I thought that when I saw it but it was a strong easterly this morning and from where I was it went straight up or down. It didnt look afected by the wind at all.
Aircraft contrails often look verticle from the ground. It is all a matter of perspective. The plane was probably flying either directly towards or away from you. Which would give the impression of the contrail raising straight into the air (or toward the ground).
I know it's hard to tell when you're driving, but did you note any sound from that direction?
Nothing at all.

True the angle in the pic looked different to what saw and by the sounds woodo saw it differently as well. Most likely a plane.

Get a flight tracker on your phone Doggie, guaranteed it was an international flight passing by. I've seen some contrails and compared them to nearby flights and found they are visible well over 150 km away and the angles look all funky.
I saw something similar as i was walking across the tarmac to catch my plane but it looked as if it was directly over the airport.
Then i saw the firetruck careering down the taxi way
Then the plane was delayed.
then the plane was diverted to an alternate taxi route past the international airport
Strange??

It was a Virgin Regional F100 flying from Abany to West Angeles. Don't often get aircraft flying over Perth at altitude which is why it stood out. I can assure you the white trails spiralling behind it were no more that condensation.

Agree on the condensation
Yea you don't see that many.
