In todays society everyone has to get a trophy even if you come last. No more sitting in a corner if your bad . There are no losers only winners. Then when sitting in jail you wished you got a red thumb

I am not a veteran here, but I've noticed a lot of good commaderie and positive posts in the kitesurfing forums since the red has vanished. I reckon go GREEN!

I dunno. I quite like not having red thumbs.
Makes posters more accountable.
If you disagree with something, speak up.
Gone is the anonymous negativity.

Nice one mods

I vote bring the reds back & ban anyone using multiple accounts to red every post someone makes.

Failing that I reckon you should at least be able to balance out greens to take something back to neutral. Otherwise every post will work it's way towards green over time.

If none of that, it should be a new system, like reddit, where it's not the latest post at the bottom but the highest voted post at the top.

Reds are for cowards. You got something to say, say it.

Thankfully I can't get redded for saying that.

Make it that you have to earn red thumbs by posting. If you put up a post you get a red thumb to use. If you start a new tread you get 5 red thumbs to use. And then keep a score of how many you hand out, which is displayed under your name along with how many posts you have done.

Or maybe have it that you can click a button to reveal a list to show who has red thumbed a post.

No more anonymity.

The red thumbs show what the people think. We live in a democracy. We have a right to red thumb and a responsibility to cop a red thumb.
Man up FFS.

Not really, I just want to see the green thumbs confined to history too. It's pretty obvious that 'some people' give an automatic greenie to everything 'someone else' posts.

Get rid of the greenies, if you have something to add to anyone's post just flaming well say it! If it's good and you agree with then say why you agree instead of hiding in anonymity behind a green thumb. I call for thumb equality on SB!

Either way, it's pretty pointless having the current system of anonymous green thumbs. Either reinstate the old system, delete thumbs all together or create another thumbing system.

I actually think Laurie is cooking something new up as we speak!!

Not fussed either way.

Reds or greens, I reckon if you have a problem with a post, articulate your thoughts as you ought.

Hopefully more than a "smiley", or a (up to) three word sentence.

If you agree, also articulate that in words, rather than a smiley that happens to be green in colour.

Not quite, I've lost count of the times I've red thumbed some twit who really deserved it (IMHO) and informed them with a post on the the same thread. J

However I can think of a couple of people who are deliberately inflammatory, abuse people and/or deliberately troll over and over in the forum of the sport they don't undertake - and neither of them has been here for weeks. Or certainly less active etc
Interesting. Maybe it is not as much fun for the small minded idiots now.
Thats a win.

Dubai !? , well no , but I will be heading to Dubai in October this year for the first time ever and as your question didn't ring alarm bells , you may want to give me a heads up and enlighten me if it might help save a few teeth.

Asia, nope , haven't been there either, but I do have a tee shirt from some island in Thailand my daughter bought for me that I can't wear for fear of being stereotyped. Can't bin the fcuekr either . J
