The new Flysurfer Peak5 has been announced flysurfer.com/project/peak5/
Keenly awaiting my shipment from Flysurfer. However COVID and supply chain issues have meant delays and shortages of stock for one of the most popular kites in the past 2 years. I still have some Peak4 kites in stock however
The performance characteristics of the Peak5 should make it even better for foiling, building on what was already a fantastic kite in the Peak4. The new 2.5m size should give us lightweight kiters an even better top end. Can't wait
Hi drsurf I have several peak5s in japan. peaks are my go to kite. But 13m is not good recentry a year past. when the kite flying left hand shoulder is broken especially strong wind and depowerd. I asked flysurfer teck they said shorten B and C line. but not improved. do you have same problem? if you have some information. please give me some helps. regards koba
Hi Koba.
What wind strength are you using the 13m Peak5 in?
thanks reply. I use 13m in 4knots to 10knots. foil shape break from 7knots or higher speed.
Hi guys,
thinking to spend the winter in Thailand, and bring with me a kite foil...Very interested in this Peak5 for light wind days (8-15kn)....just wondering witch size: 8m or 11m? I'm 85kg good skills...

Hi Koba.
What is your weight and is the wind gusty where you kite?

If the wind is steady 5m or 6m depending on your foil which I'm assuming is more freeride/surf style..
It really depends on which end of the windrange you are focused on. If the wind is closer to 15 knots then the 5m. around 12 knots 6m and around 8 knots the 8m.
The small kites are more fun because they are faster which is just due to physics. I assume you're wanting a manoeuvrable kite to ride small waves and have fun. If you were wanting to set off on long upwind and downwind runs at good speed then a Soul would be better along with a fast foil.
Not sure where you're located? It would be a good idea to try a Peak5 to get an idea of how it feels in at least one of the potential sizes.

Hi Koba.
From the information you've supplied it would seem that the 13m is overpowered for your weight and with the kite depowered it then collapses as you describe. I've only used the 13m once and I'm 67kg and used it in very light but steady wind where it flew well.
However if you're in light gusty wind with this size of kite the gusts and turbulence may be too much for this size of kite. You don't want to use the 13m when it's overpowered as it won't perform well.
If you can try an 8m Peak it might suit your conditions better. See this video

The 11m is good up to about 11kts, over that and you get overpowered, 8m is good from about 11kts upwards, assume you are 70kilos on a 1050cm or 1250cm front wing with 25m lines
If you are 90 kg then take the 11m best to take noth
Toying with getting a dedicated foil kite, looks like the Peak5 is a pretty respectable choice (coming from a 7-9-11m LEI quiver).
I'm 60kg, using a Duotone 3'11 Pace with Axis HPS700. If I'm targeting 10-15knts, any suggestions on which size Peak5?

Tailand's wind does not have must punch so at 85 kilos you would need an 8 at least. I found that I needed at least a size up on my normal kites back home. I am slightly under your weight and around here 10 knots on a 5 meter Peak does the job.

Hyphenated - I've got Peaks in 4, 5, 8 & 13m. If you can get to Pinnaroo Point you are welcome to try any of them. I prefer light days so good chance I'll be there. I am 87kg and would ride the 8m preferentially in 10-15 kts
