Firstly I'm not giving up kiting..... In fact far from it as I’m loving it more than ever theses days.

So Ben,
What brand of kite will you be flying from now on ?

My guess is he will ride whatever kite he feels like on the day and enjoy the freedom.

Why are you answering the question ? ^^^
I put it to Ben.
He can speak for himself, can't he ?

Thanks so much for all the positive feedback and well wishes, I'm really blown away with all the support.

Many of you are wondering what I am too; well there are a few things I can tell you. Firstly I'm not giving up kiting..... In fact far from it as I’m loving it more than ever theses days.

I'm going to be focusing even more on producing VISION, in the form of DVD’s, Web clips, some film stuff and TV to share my passion of kite-surfing with others.

I’m even more motivated to push the boundaries of riding waves with a kite and hopefully get some really big ones in the near future.

We will be running more Accelerator Wave camps around the globe based on the success of our camps in Bali.

I'm now working with some non-kiting based sponsors, which will allow me even more freedom to pursue the dream.

There are a few other projects in the pipeline, which are top secret at this stage, but as soon as I can share them I will.

So stay tuned..... This is a just a new beginning!

Thanks again.

Cheers

Ben

Im sure he still can if he wants to.

I didn't actually answer the question (only Ben can do that I) only expressed my thoughts as to what he might do, the same as others are giving there opinions.
The fact that he said he had some other top secret projects in the pipeline just made me think that you were unlikely to get an answer at this stage.

Sorry if I interupted your intimate conversation......carry on.

Let's not forget who this is about. Mr Wilson!

Thanks for all you have done, I'm out there riding strapless and love all the bids that are online as well as your DVDs

Hopefully you will have time for another clinic in Newcastle or somewhere along the east coast this summer. Thanks

Keep on kicking ass!

Based on what you've done in the past and Lately "The Dirty South" which I've been enjoying heaps, I'm sure you'll do really well.

Good luck Ben

Great clip Ben, Sorry for slingshot's loss.
I see you as someone who helped pioneer the sport of Kitesurfing, and help drive it in the direction it has taken.
I don't think there are many out there who wouldn't see you as an inspiration, guide or hero to follow.
Best wishes on your new journey, and the search for perfection..

My question to Ben was strictly rhetorical. ^^^
There were no expectations of a reply from the man.
There's no profit to Ben by communicating to punters and no-bodies.
I was just being a cheeky monkey, that's all.
lol.
And in this thread ...
All the remarks and tributes from the crew,
All the hero-worshipping ...
It's all just background noise to Ben.
It's seabreeze-static and a mild distraction from the job at hand ...
That being self-promotion in a gracious and professional manner.
BEN WILSON LEAVES SLINGSHOT
Author: Ben Wilson
Ben is sending out the cyber-cv,
putting out the feelers and broadcasting to the Industry his availability.
And that's what pro-kiters do, right ?
But getting back to my original question ...
If a pro finds himself between sponsors, then there is no brand to pimp at the minute, hey ?
He's temporarily in no-mans land.
And if he happens to be frothing for a sess,
what kite can he pump up ?
What brand can he be seen riding with ?
What's a pro to do ?

Well, after ditching all the Slingy kites in the wheelie-bin,
maybe he'll rise early in the morning, grab a board only and score some nice, glassy tubes for a change ...
Instead of the chopped-out, wind-blown barrels he's famous for.
