Many have said that they have needed a second or third operation.
For what reason did you need more than one? Assume on same ear.
I asked my surgeon prior surgery about follow up operations on same ear, he said that I would not need a repeat operation ever.
My surgeon is happy with how much he was able to drill out the bone (rebore, oversize) making my ear channel bigger.
And yes, I still wear Doc's Pro Plugs
you can go to the docs and get it washed out with a massive syringe. or do it yourself with warm water and a syringe
Got myself a "nice" little infection some time ago so wanted to share some thoughts and revive this thread...
Used Blu-tac since. Works well but it does block hearing. Which is ok if used for one ear, like I do. However, if using in both not so good.
Than decided to order Doc's Pro vented plugs. But which sizing?
It's got 8 different sizing ( T, XS, MS, S, M, L, XL, XXL)! Impossible task to choose from.
Luckily, this exist (sizing samples):
I would strongly suggest to get this before you order! Couldn't believe I am T and XS! Nothing bigger than XS can't put in... Unbelievable.
Used it yesterday and since vented, can hear, and most importantly my ear is hopefully safe!
Thanks dbabicwa
After a few years of minor blockage problems I'm getting my ears checked on Monday. Fingers crossed they're just full of sand, salt and wax!
^^^^ Ear candles are an established hoax
1 post Horace is an ear candle pimp
Dont know about them being a hoax I use them all the time. They work for me.
How exactly? I tried this one and all it did was choke me with smoke! Like how the hell do they work?
Like many of the posters here I've had ongoing ear problems for many years. Some people have a strait ear canal and some (like me) have a little kink at the end of their ear canal. This kink stops water from draining out which can cause an infection. The best strategy is to keep your ears dry . I've tried quite a few different types of earplugs - some lose seal or drop out but these I find an excellent design (Macks Ear Seals). I got 5 sets on Ebay for $5.00 a set.
Thanks! Are they vented? If not can you drill a tiny hole in it to make it vented? Duno, heat a needle and make a hole...
apparently it is a reaction to cold wind . gath stops alot of the problem
Also bad bacteria. Sneaky and unstoppable by the helmet...

Yep agree.
Wearing a helmet with ear covers helps especially after a good stack as is stops water getting forced into your ear.

Perforated ear drums are REALLY painful having gone through that with my board slamming the side of my head in the 70's.
Hey Dafish - I got hit on the side of the head by my board over at TOS a few years ago and the impact blue my eardrum. Funny how it never mends 100%. Its always popping and creaking and clicking sometimes when I run.
Aqua ear works for me most times...
