I wasn't criticizing the music on In*vent. I like it. The Tool track has power and a groove and style. I would not like a whole video of it but it is a good track.
I was criticizing all the other videos that use music that is a cliche or tries to convey an attitude but misses out on the soul of kiteboarding. Besides, my girlfriend won't let me have the sound up on kite videos with noisy sound tracks ... or naked chicks
Anyway, there is obviously a market for a full length Andy Gordon video (Aaron who?) but he has set the bar very very high with this first taste.
Man, the only vid I saw to come close to this level was TheWESTERNshore... AND IT'S ALSO YOURS!
Please, you must share, for all of us editing fans, how did you do that?
It looks like you used a lot less masking than in the WesternShore vid but this time, when you did, you completely redefined masking.
What camera did you use? Was this edited using Adobe CS3? How the hell did you pull that slomo with realtime background scene? What did you mask it on? was it color mask? How did you achieve the waveriding motion-tracking without the black spots on the sides? Did you shoot in HiDef and rendered to 3:4?
Dude, you've gotta show this video to the TotalTraining guys. You'll be a goldmine for them (and they to you). Hell, I'll show them that!
Keep up the good work and let us know.
