Niumalu I think you missed my point. Kiters actions in the past and complaints from the general public to the council have forced the council to recommend kiting does not occur in the bay to limit their liability. More kiters coming on mass(festival) and hassling werner and the windsurfers will cause more grief for kiters rather than fix the issue.
If I was Werner,
I'd grab the air-rifle and shoot out the leading-edge bladders.
That'll fix those wascally kite****.
hehehe
what has happened to people; letters to the council? sending annoying emails? posting photos of his wife? i bet he's quaking in his booties.
why doesnt someone just belt the bloke?
If the council is aware of this thread then Weiner is probably aware of it by now too.
If - as somebody mentioned - he has mates on the council maybe the local constabulary are in his pocket too. Sounds like he's pretty cocksure of himself telling people he'll cut their lines and stab their kites.
That sort of behaviour sounds like something you'd expect from an itinerant criminal/thug/menace to society, not an established local business proprietor.
I just want to stress, the problems I have had are purely with windsurfing not kitesurfing, so this is not just a kitesurfing issue.
What a thread I haven't had such a great read since the Safari Lodge days, I think Laurie puts this up to keep us interested.
Anyway there is another great story I've heard but not first hand, and this was when a volunteer for the Ledge to Lancelin was actually assualted a few years ago. Apparently this guy was in a 4WD and was driving back along the beach to pick up stragling windsurfers from another light wind race, anyway he drives on the sand in front of Werner's trailer, and next thing you know our man comes out and punches him through the drivers window because he thought it was dangerous, if anybody knows about this story it would be great to hear it from the horses mouth.

kn ring him to arrange phantom windsurfing lessons/book his entire fleet for a Saturday afternoon
and just in kn case, my disclaimer
- none of my comments should be taken seriously and in no way should be seen as encouragement to take any action that would affect anyone operating a legitimate business, or to take any action that may be illegal
- as can be seen by my user name, my comments are satirical, and only come from serious concerns of, and to bring to people's attention to, a history of various allegations on this forum of dangerous behaviour on the part of Werner
i saw the Ledge to lano incident. it is pretty much happened exactly as described. Weinknob just came running up bright red screaming and swearing and then punched the bloke. It was quite surreal.
I have had the opportunity to kite at Lano,
last year about this time I think.
At my age days blend into years.
not much wind but had to have a go.
set up on some grass in front of a BBQ area, in front of a home made "no kites" sign.
there was a trailer set up with windsurf gear next to me.
Is that this Werner dude?
anyway, I had no trouble at all, no approaches, didn't notice any glares, etc. etc.
Are you sure this all isn't just made up?
Maybe we should try and get Werner's side of the story before condemning him. Maybe he has had to put up with so much crap from wayward kiters and is just not prepared to be diplomatic anymore.
I to kited Lancelin(South Passage) on Saturday. 2 kiters and 5-6 poleys sharing the break harmoniously. No bad vibes at all. A bit of courtesy and consideration goes a long way. (Poleys even guiding RayQ back to his board when he lost it)
im right now in Lanclin and yesterday Werner (swiss not german) :) threatend to call the Ranger if we kite again in that area, even though there were only 2 or 3 Windsurfer out there...but the north bay looks pretty good too so i give it a try over there...
It is people like that on both sides of the fence that ruin the sport for everyone else who just want to get out on the water and have fun.
