You just got to get off the couch and travel

Try Albany, just a suggestion for today, 4 hours drive.

Or the river or estuary locally

Esperance in Jan/Feb this year for me the way things are going with that biatch La Nina. It is the worst start for SWers in about 15 years. I remember the same thing when one season, we had the same thing when windsurfing in another lifetime. I feel for the shops, they have already lost 1 1/2 months of real business. I cant believe Im gonna have to resort to kitesurfing gusty easterlies..

At least the cricket is on. and the air-conditioner.

Yeah, that's a depressing forecast.

The nature of this sport, I'm sitting here so physically tired because the wind has blown lots this week and, no matter how buggered I am after the morning kite, I think of all those times when there's no wind, so I go out for the arvo session.

In a way, I'm kinda glad theres no wind today because I know I would go and flog my tired old body again.

Not complaining, being physically exhausted from kiting is a wonderful feeling.

You guys over there seem to get a lot of it, be happy for us east coasters we got some wind.

Footnote,
Missus is happy, I found the energy to finally mow the lawn today.

At least the lighthouse to leighton, could have been done backwards today starting at dawn. You could have got your official time when you ran to the Quokka arms and skulled a beer! or Lemonade for for the unofficial 2nd place getter last year.

I agree with Eppo. Shocking season. Last summer as well.

And to all the oh-so positive thinkers, THANKS but, kiting in dirty river water and/or in said low wind Pinna conditions cannot possibly replace the bliss of free ocean carving in a 20knot plus summer breeze.

I did that 'positive stuff' when I was a newb in bubble: twin tip, boost in boardies over wettie, lame backroll 'n wakeboard tricks, my-kite-better-than-yours in 15 knots.

Oh ----> the innocence of it [swoon]

My soulful little 7m is looking for an invigorating swing in the breeze!!!!

Hey!!! what you talking about Bo, Im still doing that after 10 years, grab my twinny and the so called good for wave kite only.
Had a ball last week, my limited rep of tricks still puts a smile on my face and I find out how slack this wave kiting thing has made me within the last twelve months.

The boys were on 2 line 6m Naish kites out at Pinnaroo. There were 3 or 4 of them and all going for massive air. I think that was summer of 1999/2000.

Ye thats right SugarQ, good scary times,
Ian had evolved from his Roeselers kite onto a foil kite with a bar longer than his board by then. (sorry Ian, much respect)
If I remember correctly it was a slow summer like this one that got SugarQ LouD and the rest of the cool crew that used to windsurf behind the island into kiting.
Check the forecast out now Bo, 5 out of 7 aint bad.
see its all good
