I keep reading the quote and cant see the problem at all.
Maybe i should have put "in comparison" in bold?
Might need to look up the importance of weight in paragliders and parachutes and reserve chutes.... Because in comparison to kites it really matters for them and not so much for kites? Particularly lei kites ? Whats the boggle?
I love light kites, less bar pressure, less turning input before I feel lines stretching/ delaying my work, is my thing,
single strut kites 10m and up?
A heavy 5 strut construction expands the high end of a kite exponentially perfect for a one kite quiver. From 9-12m
Lol! Running a 4 kites at this moment
I just like how the have a BLADDER SOLUTION which sounds like a membrane thats sprayed onto the inside of the leading edge and struts kinda like when you put glue on your hands as a kid then peeled it off. Im imagineing that... Sand (inside the struts etc from pumping) is going to anhilate that if its not actually permeated into the fabric itself. I cant understand how a repair would go down... injected from the outside? tire slime? ...So it must be something else...
What i found most upsetting was the statement that kite designs hit a peak for years and only improvements is materials...
Concave kites would loop so ballsout amazingly hard your arms would be removed from theyre sockets so just make an exoskeleton like bar/arm/body harness thing and wahhllaaaa 2021 robotcop bar and concave kiteloops
Im convinced if you had a concave leading edge and concave trailing edge with a double wedge airfoil and lets say 70% of the material was in the pure C kites wingtips that kite could hardly even stay floating in sky unless it was SUPER WINDY i mean like youd need 30knots to hold up 20 square meter kite... but if you looped it...... All that material on the wings would become active and Well youd be looping a 20m kite in 30 knots. Itd be like hitting a bouncy ball with a tennis raquet
You plastic weld it?!? Thats pretty cool
So same material but different amount of heat before it liquifys then solidifys ... ? Can you confirm if its removeable? Or am i going to have to school up in keyhole surgery
2021 Game changer, Aluula that folds to fit in a bag.
We all wish the best for the new tech, but it'll be impossible for their not to be teething issues in Gen 1.
If we had its real intended purpose we could see how and what they do to that product and then we would at least know it was designed to do that.
My moneys on inflatable buildings
... we will see. But the actual kite design has to work as well. Surely it will change the profile, outline, leading edge diameter etc and the bridling. That's gonna take some tweaking. But it's a step in the right direction.
Out of interest, why did they stop using Cuban fibre?
It enabled the kite to be lighter, stiffer and smaller LE.
Hi, I'm looking for data sheets of Dacron, D2 ripstop and quadtex by Naish.
Do you guys have any info? It would be cool to make a serious comparison with some detailed info.
Thank you in advance!
Check out the websites for Teijin. They make most brands sail cloth, along with clothes and most after plastic things we use.
Well its a pretty wild ride !! Jemma seems to be quite vocal over social media about it maybe we could summon her or craggers to lay down the knowledge.
