Lately I have been using bars with a fairly small chicken loop that connects straight into a ring on my sliding spreader bar, this is the simplest and best system ( for me) that I have come across so far. I think this new can setup is good but I wouldn't change over from what I've got now for it
Pics of your setup please mate?
I have to say I'm a bit disappointed by the Hype about this Cabrinha revolution - but credit to an innovation attempt!
When I first heard about it and did the google thing I was hoping for a Dynabar style /but as robust as the chick loop connection system - and then I saw what my mate describes as the 'anal bead connection dongle' - Hmm WFTF ?
Like previous posters I'm not sure I can see the REAL advantages of the Cabrinaha innovation?? .
I'm now showing my age but I reckon this will come down to a Beta vs VHS video system - and I'm not about to invest in yet another attachment system just so occasionally I could fly a Cab kite ???
If we didn't have innovation we would still be flying 2 line kites (yikes!!) so bring it on and let the market decide!!
a lot of hate and pro comments on the other forum site. I think is a very good idea. I am a dynabar bar user and love it. I would like to try this new system but I am sure he will sale it for over $1000. There is no way I will pay that kind of money. cheers
We should have done such a Cab video 8 year ago
What are you saying Jay - add a red ball and you've got the same thing? My one disconnected on the water!
I love the sliding feature of the Dynabar - but, got to say yes - you JAY should do some better marketing videos and some more R & D !
I don't think he has the capital/budget of NP
Yeh the thread got hijacked by the Italians ...
Need more spin - money and marketing - thrown at the problem !
Yeah, we had a bit of a round table discussion with pat goodman about that and decided
that we just need to hang out more and kitesurf or kiteboard or whatever

That safety pin you are talking about is easily removable should you judge it an unnecessary feature. If it opened in the water it was not connected properly. Not a manufacturing issue, just a lazy user who doesn't check his gear before hitting the water.

I will try get some pics up soon mate
Here's another version, I don't like the look of it though
Whats wrong with you people? A kitesurfing company makes something innovative, which happens to have a small plastic ball on the end of the attachment system and you people immediately think about sticking things up your bum and I'm guessing are actually contemplating sticking one into the dark place!?!?!?
Remind me to never borrow anything of yours that could fit in your ass. Its also incriminating that you know where to get these pics of anal beads things.

What's incriminating is that YOU knew they were anal beads.....
Hi guys, been awhile since I've posted, but I thought I'd let you know my thoughts and give a bit more info on a few points.
Yes it is new and yes and yes you have you have purchase a new spreader bar for this to work, but for anyone hating on the way it works, I urge to at least try it before you make that decision. I'll admit I wasn't 100% sold on it the first time I tested it out last year, but the more I've ridden it, the more I like it and the simple thing is it just feels better and works better for 90% of riding. Having the connection point that much closer to your body with the ability for the ball to swivel up rather then lever the spreader bar into your ribs makes things much more comfortable.
When it comes to unhooking, I thought I'd clear this up. For someone like me who rides mostly hooked in but still wants the option to unhook on occasions, this works perfectly. No it is not as easy as hooking back in with a loop but too be completely honest it's really not that difficult either. It is a smaller target, but if you grab the swivel handle area to help guide it back like a lot of people still do with a loop anyway, its pretty easy. For the 80% of people that ride purely hooked in, this obviously doesn't matter. For the 10% of people who rarely unhook but still want the option, this is still a great system for you. Simply unlock the gate when you want to be able to unhook and put it back into place when you want to be locked in completely. As long as the lines don't go completely slack the ball can hold in on the spreader bar pretty well without the gate engaged too. For the hardcore freestyle guys who are unhooking a lot, obviously the loop is still better which is why cabrinha still sell as an option on all their bars if wanted.
When it comes to changing from quickloop to a fireball system, they've made this as easy as possible. Between 2017 bars its basically a 2 minute job that involves opening up the swivel handle and attaching the new fireball system to that. They did have to change the swivel handle a little to make a few things easier this year which means for 2015/16 bars you'll need to change the depower line as well but this isn't that much more expensive and still a relatively easy option. If you are interested in doing that then just go in and visit your local dealer and I'm sure they can help you out and change it over. Another thing to note is cabrinha bars will work on and most 4 line single line flag kites on the market so it is possible to retrofit to other kites if you are interested.
Another thing to note is that you will be able to buy a cheap simple chicken loop that connects straight to the original release as an aftermarket part. If you want something that allows you have the option to let others try your kite or share the kite with someone that would rather use a chicken loop system, then this works great
For wave riding I really like this system for the obvious reason that it allows the pull to rotate much easier side to side and in every direction. For people asking about a sliding system there is a pretty cool mod that a few dealers know about that should allow you to get the best of both worlds by being able to unhook from the spreader onto a sliding system then hook back onto spreader for that central pull when you need it. This is something I am very keen on trying more myself and I can update once I have tested it out a little more.
Personally I will riding this system 100% this year I urge all of you to atleast go out and at least demo one to try for yourself.
Cheers,
Keahi

lol.
You're kidding, right ? ^^^
Try 99% of the kitesurfing population.

You forgot to mention that your designers failed to provide for a suicide connection on this fireball thing,
so of course the hardcore flatwater bandits will be sticking with the chicken loop for now.
If it ant broke don't fix it oh speaking of broke that's what your'll be after you have finished paying for that Video with the product price increase to cover it

man with a pitch like that you should give up kiting and play for the Yankies! you go get em tiger!!!!!!!

You can actually ride this with a suicide setup by connecting to the leash ring then also connecting the leash around the PU tube above the ball. One thing you need to be aware of though is that by doing this you are disabling your secondary leash release when you are still hooked in. Most people that ride suicide will be ok with this and are fine with not having the leash release but it is not recommended for this reason.
Also I was wrong about upgrading 2015/2016 bars. Turns this can be done by just updating swivel handle and the new fireball
Good on cabrinha for pushing the boundaries, this might just be the next big revolution in kiteboarding!
Cabrinha is a funfactory for engineers, with a lot of budget going towards advertisement and RDnE. But a lot of the stuff they come up with is also garbage (i.e the 2014 control bar with the spagettinducing 5th line. That was so bad, cabrinha even cut the footage of the kite flagging out from the advertising video and there was no shot of resetting the control system after the safety has been pulled).
I wish they'd focus on canopy & leading edge innovation as much as their fancy control systems though.
There leading edges are smooth and round not ****ing octagons like some other big brands. The smoother and rounder the aerofoils leading edge the better.
What else do you want from it? Thinner? Having a thinner leading edge just reduces the durability probably viable on a race kite but not on there kook proof range.
What else? Im all ears
Theres no need for shark noses etc obviously the drop cloth of a twinskin to hide the struts never worked adding vents ala naish / ocean rodea also hasnt worked to well. All you can change is have it lighter and stronger and smoother. Those 3 factors will allways come into play as new materials come on the market.
Keahi stop landing in trees would ya! Heard old mick had to help pull you out of sunrise few months back hahahha
I tend to self launch guite a bit using a sand anchor, and a carabina securing the chicken loop. With this system, other than buying a second bar, what do you think may be the best tethering method, using this setup?

Due to Fireball,
tether launches have now been cancelled.
Phark, I'd try anything that claims to lessen harnesses riding into your ribs, crushing your lungs, or ending up giving you a cleavage by cramming your man-boobs.

Hiw about a seat harness?
Saw one in the flesh today .... Looks well built ( no suprise) and I like the idea. I will be keen to give it a go and see if it suits.
