Copied from the above forum page. Details supplied by Graeme at Surf Sales UK

Fuel. Same strut layout, but Loads more panels, those zig zag bits are panels, there are more panels and more seam shaping on the Fuel than I've seen in a while, almost back to the Glory days. (For those that don't know, seam shaping and lots of panels is a good thing, it's more expensive to produce, yields a better shape and gives added rip stop.)

It's got this tightening of the side panels on the wing tip to stop that flutter in loops yet the foil above the leading edge remains full at the entry to retain the powerhouse.

It's no point blathering on about a Fuel, a Fuel rider has got to ride it and see, but my money is on it being a step up from this and last years offering in genuine terms, if only more longevity.

The big kite news is The Rally, this is the new wonder of the age according to the boys. Its an absolute joy to jump, just the timing and ease of lift off amongst other things and it easily achieves more height and float than even an RPM.

It's a three strut Delta C (don't ask) has no pulleys yes I'll say it again, no pulleys and they seem to have managed to distance the front and back take offs in such a way that it relaunches if you just telepathically think it needs to.

It's light, well built, loads of panels and seam shaping, a lot of thought has gone into this kiddy and it'll be priced around the RPM and will sit between the Key which aint going to change and the RPM.
It also has.... take a deep breath and wonder wtf - split strut - er on a bow, well not a total bow but a hybrid Delta C swept tip whatever.. call it new Gen.
Either way, that's a bit of committment that they would do that, it's not the cheapest thing to build
and I guess it's there to compensate for the three struts and the fairly rigid air frame the wide guage struts give.

In fact there are so many things going on I think maybe another thread might be necessary, they have made some real innovations in their board offering, featuring solid wood cores fused to solid urethane rails (no joins, none, nada,) tracks throughout offering multi stance widths, super super light weight, dialed flex and huge response to pop loading.

The Surf boards all get tracks and wood decks and an amazing line up with some killer smash and destroy weaponry, this year you simply mustn't make that buying decision without taking a look at Slingshot - they are lit right now...

Clearly it's copied from www.kiteforum.com, I think if you noticed tino asked the question on that forum and got a few replies, one from yourself and your boss At surf sales.... I'm guessing Laurie wouldn't have been a fan of Tino copying the link direct to kiteforum.com

its obvious now that he has added in where the info came from, something that was missing originally.

given the link from hanglos in the first post why would Laurie have had an issue if he had put a link in the second post?

anyway how much gear did Andrew manage to sneak back for you guys?

I hope this Rally is not the new Octane/Rev? Too much change!
I wonder if Ben will come up with something this summer?
But I have seen some of the prototype bamboo sandwich surfboards & I must admit they are the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

Hey Ryland,

Spoke to Andy and the Rally is the new wave kite. Great for unhooking as it drifts back really well. To be honest tho, I didnt listen too hard about it as I was super keen on the Fuel. Should get my new gear within a month as production of the Fuels is already happening.

Andy has a 11m Fuel being shipped back from the US along with the wakeboards. He had too much gear to carry...... which could only be a good thing

I've just been at the Slingshot party in Le Touquet France were they had the new Misfit, Lunacy and Bamboo surfboard, as well as a Fuel 2011.

From what I have seen, all the twintips are now made in the states with full wood core, graphics will different on every board making them your very own custom board!!! They have a very clever way of making the rail, and the boards are lighter than last year. The surfboard I saw was absolutely amazing looking.
The Fuel has a few changes, more panels, only one setting on the tip for speed, but still two settings for wake or freeride. The canopy material is tighter on the leading edge upto above the first strut for less drag, all in all a very nice looking kite with the same construction you would expect from Slingshot. I've have also seen the new Rally, but I'll let Andrew tell you about that.

The graphic design on those twin tips is a step backward? I was really liking the last couple of seasons with the clean lines and sweet palettes but these are hideous.

Im digging the new tech, but why only 1 speed setting do you know? In my opinion they would be better off have 2 speed settings and 1 front line setting. I ride wakestyle and I use the freestyle setting anyway, it works better. What is like 50cents it takes to add an extra pigtail on... Still keen to try it though.

Crikey!! I'm not that fussed about graphics generally, but that is the 2nd company's new 2011 season graphics that look to be a combination of too much grog and LSD!!

I thought the new Fuel's look was a bit ordinary (I've always liked the look of Fuels but it probably was ready for a change) then kept scrolling down and ended up frantically searching for a rail to lean over the side of!!

Forget the new Cab stuff those boards are kn ugly.

Oh well as long as the new gear flys and performs well...

agreed! thats one sexy stick. I think the position of the straps is good if you like riding with your back foot out. Hopefully it will be adjustable though

Yep, take a closer look, there's plenty of movement with the straps, on both the TT and surfboard, instead of screwing down the straps to prepositioned holes in the decks, they are using a channel system like the old surfboard finbox, allows the straps to be postioned anywhere along the channels, saw it on a proto SS last year, brilliant. Screw-in pads should be a thing of the past, more movement, more secure, surely the other manufacturers will jump on board.

Here's a picture of the new glide, and another shoot of the surfboard, so you can see the footstrap tracks. The tracks are really easy to set up and adjust, and once you know you stance width you can always set up to the right width as the distance is shown on the board.
