Any idea whats killing the birds, I've noticed quite a few on the beach on the central coast in the last week or two(black ones). I'm guessing they are some type of migratory bird and something has gone badly wrong. I hope it isn't a man made issue

Hehe - you guys can keep Stockton. After seeing the things I've seen swimming in the water 1/2 way between Birubi and Stockton - I will definately not be kiting there

I took Rick Kelly for a fly less than a month ago, and we both saw 2 x 4 to 5 meter monsters about 10 meters off the beach, swimming North about 2km apart. That's the first time I bothered to "look" along that stretch of beach this year.

And Float has surely changed his tune from the last time he ventured north.... Last time you had nothing but scorn for us all.

You're just getting in good with the locals, 'cause you've seen that nice little hottie kiting with US...Not the nobbs!

Haa..friggin haa... us oldies still know how to pull it....um, I mean... pull 'em.

I saw two freakin huge sharks yesterday .One at the breakwall and one up the top of nobby's around the rocks .the thing with Stockton I suppose is that if you are in the air they re easy to spot against the bright sandy bottom .Apparantly the net guys have been pullin heaps out of the shark nets off stocko ,Nobbys ,Newy, bar, dicko and merewether

Last time I went kiting up there with my mates, we all got eaten by great whites. There were like a million or so of them and they were all fighting over us. They said they do it to all non local kiters.

The Republic of Stockon welcomes visitors. Fortunately ease of access and lack of spectators limits the numbers.

Gotta laugh about the sharks - it is riddled with them but you would think that a surfer would have been taken by now. And yes there are no fences. Great whites travel between Australia and South Africa, California and Hawaii. Perhaps they do a detour passed Nobby's?

The mutton birds come from way North of Japan every year. They live up to thirty years but by the time they get down here they are well rooted and a lot die of exhaustion. When they forage for food for their chicks they can travel up to 15,000 k's in three weeks so the trip down here must be something else.

Anything else you want to know I am your man. Since Laurie shut down the conspiracy threads I shall have to amuse myself elsewhere.

It might be so that mutton birds fly 15,000 km's in 3 weeks, and that there are no fences around Stockton, but rumour has it every Great White on earth was born in Stockton!

There is only one thing that George fears and that is damaging his ackers. Small dogs have an advantage of access so he leaves them behind as in runs away.

He can't kite surf because the twin tip is too small.

Stabber you are a little off the news. Dave Whitey has a new kite and is now outside the waves on a regular basis. This is not a rumour, can be substantiated!

Have it on authority that he is going to attempt a jump in 2012!
