There are hundreds of awesome kite surfing locations around the world. Australian Kite Surfari was lucky enough to have been on the Cabrinha Kites web site as one of the 10 perfect locations in the world. Follow this link

This shows some of the conditions you can expect by walking 10 steps from your cabin door. Some of the water looks flat to me .

In the next few weeks we have another big brand kite company shooting footage for there web site.

This location is not for everyone but if you don't like crowds but you do like strong consistent wind this is a awesome Australian adventure holiday. Check out the wind graphs today, yesterday, last week , next week etc and you will understand why this holiday gets so many rave reviews by people who have actually been on a surfari .

just got back from a Kite Surfari eight day'er with an awesome crew from SYD, Perth, BRIS and MEL --- of the 8 days only 2 were less that 25kts, we averaged a consistent 30kts

This was my first kite trip so no other destinations to compare to, but my three new mates from SYD (Torsten, Andrew and Will) assure me there's not a spot on the planet with this consistency of wind where you fall out of a comfy bed, walk 20 paces, pump up, launch and you're off .. the area is remote, exclusive and awesome, waste high and a bunch of spots within easy distance depending on what the tides doing .. 'crocagoon' was quickly the crew's favourite, and nice to see it featured in the vid above ;)

f@#k all this crap about $300 a day .. Ant and Paulette take care of everything, transfers to and from the camp (5 hours north of Cairns), all meals, a few beers and enough laughter to last you until next year (you're a f@&kin legend Ant and we're all envious, you've got life wired) .. and if you only get a pass out for a few weeks a year what's $2k? ... f@&k all

To the haters that crap on about the cost ... have you been?
To those who are looking for an awesome kite trip with wind that never stops ... go
To those who said 4 days is enough ... nup, 8 days is perrfect

Good winds mofos!

Here's my two cents on Australia Kitesurfari. If you're looking for a true kiting holiday with all the trimmings of Australian bush/beach run by genuine down to earth people then this is the place to go. I've been on two trips over the last three years and can only praise Ant and Paulie for the level of service and quality of facilities provided in such a remote location. I had planned and paid for a trip to PNG on the MV Golden Dawn last month only to be let down at the last minute without even an offer of compensation for lost air fares. Needless to say I'm off on the eight day trip next week with Ant and his loverly sidekick. Having done both the four and the eight day tour, I can highly recommend the extended trip as the extra time allows one to appreciate the amazing resource that we have here in Australia.

If you don't want to waste value holiday time, risk loosing money with no guarantee on wind, then this is the place to go to ensure you get the best of what Queensland can offer! Jump on a plane after work and you'll find youself kiting by lunch time the following day. Wind conditions are so good that by day four you just want it to stop blowing so you can tkke a break from kiteboarding for hours on end. The boys at kitepower Qld had a few things to say on their recent blog that will back me on this matter.

In summary:
Wind 10/10
Service 10/10
Value 10/10
Facilities 10/10 (It's 5 star camping not the Hilton hotel)

If you're in doubt about taking this trip, feel free to drop me email as I'd be happy to chat.

I'm pretty keen to do a four day trip in the next month or so. Just wondering what the max number of people can stay there. I hear there's a tent and cabin option.

Cheers

Hurdles,

I just got back from the 8 day trip yesterday. Not a breath of wind anywhere else in Queensland but we still were still able to put in a couple of sessions each day thanks to this freakish wind location. Cabin accommodation is the way to go and sleeps up to six people complete with real beds and lighting! This is a marked improvement from sleeping in tents.

Cheers. M.

True that.
Two of us from Wollongong had been planning a trip to Queensland, following the seabreeze wind charts,we quickly realized that the only chance of wind was going to be Cairns. Green arrows almost for three months straight. We booked holidays with work, then the week we planned to go, yellow arrows with a touch of red as well for the whole week.......F#CK...and that was Thursday.
So we were to fly out on the following Tuesday and had no wind to fly too.....what to do?....Call Ant?...nah I have left it too late...F#ck it I will call.
There you go..I called and he squeezed us in....happy days...
We stayed night 1 at yorkeys......ZERO WIND...
Ant picked us up at 5:30am on the dot as promised..Five hr trip taking in the sights up past Cooktown...Kiting in WIND by midday...
We joined another crew half way through their Eight day surfari and after chatting to them couldn't believe that they had kited every day...
The rumors are true....people were pumping up as the sun rises ( me included ) what a place.
Being a beginner, I kited more in the first 2 days than I managed in a whole year at home...that's right ( a whole year )
Waist deep warm water , cross onshore , no gusts at all ( not like Wollongong ) heaps of sun, NO CROWDS...and no crocks.
The water tank cabins are fantastic, comfortable and clean. Ant has arranged the cabins so you can eat, drink and socialize out of the constant wind.
The flushing toilet and hot water shower are taken for granted at home but are truly appreciated up there.
Whilst kiting on day 2 a roller on my bridle snapped....thanks to Ant and a bit of luck I was up and kiting within the hour...10 hr return drive saved...
Met some great people and had a fantastic experience..
Saving up for the next one...
Thanks Ant and Pauley...
Cheers Billy...

So I've booked myself in for a trip in October. Pretty excited about it. Will be my first time in Queensland winter - any need for a wetsuit or would a rash shirt to keep sun off be alright?

I feel the cold and took my spring suit but it never came out of my bag. Rashi was all that I needed.
