Should twin tips in the surf be banned?
Or should some kind of designated area be setup for them similar to the windsurfers?

It seems like the twintip style is too different to surfboard waveriding for both styles to exist together safely.

Whether it be the lofty boosts through the line-up or out of control riders sliding down the wave face, I'm just worried twin tippers are likely to cause injury to others riding proper directionals.

It sound's like a sick idea for Sandgate! ps.. QLD SECTION

That will help cull the blue blubbers and hopefully teach all the surfconnect short tacker
graduate's who haven't the slightest idea about kite etiquite and safety, helping other's
to get out at least 5m from the shore break and try n carve a turn on a wave!

pps.. if kiting at sandgate I'd suggest you carry a knife to cut the line's of the
kook's who have know idea. Before they take you out!

What about those strapless buggars that do a jump loos there board and body drag through the line up blocking it for others?

What about the surfboards kiting in not wave area. They should be shot too....

What about surfers trying to surf above 15 knot. Band the water babies for getting in the way.

What about those Damn dog walkers. They get in the way of my luanch/land zone. Those dog owners should be made to consume there of dogs.

Agree they are a pain as they are always trying inch more upwind, but I started on a TT in waves just to get used to the feel. Now its gathering dust.

Luckily my usual spot is mostly surfboard riders riding mostly unstrapped and often on old surfboards and makes for a much more chilled out and friendly environment.

When there is an ideal flatwater spot 30 seconds away by kite, I don't understand why they feel the need to be disrupting the flow of the break. Flatwater = twin tip, surf = surfboard.

Are you joking !!! I ride strapless surfboard in the surf most of the time but when it hits 25 + knots I love grabbing my twin tip and hitting the ramps for a awesome boosting session . You must be joking .

no just saying they are a pain and most ride like they want to be in flat water so I give them a wide berth, I have tried to educate/convert a few of them but somehow they cannot let go of their old ways. sound familiar?

You need to understand.

Surfie Boy is a pure-ist.

No.

Heaps of great surf riders on TT's.
Heaps of bad surf riders on surfboards.

Ive been dreaming a lot about waves lately been stuck in Darwin for work.

With the rapid increase of surfers and kiters (windsurfers excl as they are in decline) and the over crowding of surf breaks makes me deeply concerned for the welfare of waves across the globe.

At this rate with the amount of waves being caught everyday it will not be long before waves numbers dwindle, become endangered and if nothing is done become extinct.

My solution is if we let every 2 waves in a set go free this will enable waves to roll free and hopefully repopulate bigger and better.

Well it seems like the places with separate craft zones works well.

The people that wanna do lofts can be put down the beach a bit. You could probably even zone them in with the windsurfers.

I hate regulation but it could be the best option.

I suggest that those who can't handle the pace in crowded situations is to not kite in crowded locations .Its quite simple really !.

Plenty of useless SB riders messing up the rotation as well.

I do see some of what SB is saying (although I don't subscribe to his doctrine at all)... Those TT dicks who sit right in the flat section before the wave set (where you are coming down the line) mowing the lawn like some retarded water boys. I ride with plenty of good TT riders in the waves that get just as frustrated as the SB riders. And if the wave is good enough and you are good enough to go big you shouldn't be landing in the lineup either. But alas it is a middle age non athletic - should be playing golf, kook fest out there at the moment (and beyond middle age in some circumstances).

Just the way it is. As I said it is not just SB riders who feel your pain SBoy.

Haha cheers Eppo.

Of course these are not my true formation of feelings (bans and zoning etc), but just a funny thought I had while kiting this arvo. Yes, other surfboard riders also can be a pain.

I am genuinely stoked when I see others frothing on kiting. Frustration rises when someone boosts into your wave, but that only lasts for 5 seconds. I'm not a very serious person.

Another thought that makes me laugh: kooks in boots. Why are they all doing it? Boots used to be something people progressed into, now you see boots on people's first board!

also ban SUPs goatboats & esky lids from the line-up & weekend warriors too (mammals should stick to land) & scooters from sk8 parks & 2 plankers from back country (it's never too deep)....
