Who killed loftywinds ?

For the record, unlike some that just get their fix and leave, I usually hang around watching and observing all the locals. I've seen some nasty situations and I don't mean to boast, but if I wasn't there on hand things would have got a lot worse.

Recently I had to abort launching a kite for a young lady that could not get her lines in the right order. I held onto her kite even after she gave me the thumbs up because I noticed her bridles were crossed and her lines were twisted. Three times I helped her until she got it right. Amos, you're my witness! Anyway... All was cool.

Another time, this kook was teaching his mates to kite on land next to the beach! I thought FFS! I just went over and told him off. I don't care for the consequences. When it comes to kites and wind, safety is paramount! His student smiled actually because he wasn't sure how this was progressing or where he would end up. The doosh kept teaching on land though, but never saw him since.

lLook, I don't want to be labelled a do-gooder or a Bevan, but kite surfing is a very risky sport in the wrong hands. I feel passionate about it and want to make sure people around me are playing it safe, for their safety and mine. Sure, tell me to g**fkd or mind my own business. I get some of that too, but mate after the crap I witnessed at Altona years back and the events there since, well...

II encourage any proficient kiter to take a little time and notice those around you. Just a few minutes extra of your time to help land or launch or give a little advice goes a looooonng way I reckon.

So if you're in Townsville, say hi. Many others are keen to help and Marvin is no different either. Him and flo actually do a lot of good to the sport and are always willing to chat or discuss anything to do with kiting.
