Ok if there are any troll here is your chance, I just got the below bar made up and tested, works great for me. Feel free to make suggestions and improvements for what would better for you. The below proto bar was built from the many bar posts in the SB forum.

1) Optional Plastic inside line that is smooth and does not catch on the bar
2) Soft bar ends ( better for heads and surfboards )
3) Optional Protected center safety line that does not catch on the bar ( safety line that wear out suck )
4) Below bar push away release
5) Below bar swivel
6) No above bar swivel
7) 20m + 4m - 24m Lines best for most riders, I like 20m lines for surf.
8) Split close to bar V one line flagging not Y
9) Above bar de power clam cleat within reach that does not flap around.
10) Clean light and simple, no fluff... (KISS)
11) Short throw and long throw in the one bar with a simple quick adjustment
12) STRONG 450kg center lines and 350kg outer lines
13) Easy to replace parts. All parts of the bar are easily replaced using parts from local kite and marine shops.
14) Easy to detach lines. All 4 lines can be easily detached without having to unthread 24m through a hoop. This makes changing lines, untangling, removing seaweed 1000 times faster and easier.
15) There will be a 5th line optional add-on, and a plastic protected center line addon.
16) Under $400 AUD

what we have here is a game changer guys

Can I copy yours?

Where does the QR line go only to the V point? That's a bit short ain't it?

The QR line is the red line, when you use the push away release, the red line and one inside kite line pulls through a center hole in the release like most other bars do ( ozone bar, north bar, etc )

Flagging the kite to 1 inside line.

Dont know why you would want a high Y over a V, but this bar will come with a part that can turn the V into a Y easily by sliding a part up the lines.

This way the bar will work with kites that use a high Y and a short V

Because I believe they are superior in flight from my experience, especially when maxed out and beyond.

I'd buy the kite designers bar if I was in the market. Pretty spot on for crashing in waves I reckon.

Some kites do fly better with a Y. Id depend on what bar they designed the bridal around.

I'm not a fan of the Y. But I have noticed a big diff in performance using a V bar with a Y kite.

Landing a kite solo in most wind conditions is much easier with a V bar for me.

One thing i hate about some bars which doesnt seem to be mentioned yet is having multiple ropes and safety line passing through the bar. Probably ive got smaller hands than most which doesnt help but i like to control the kite one handed with rope passing between my fingers most of the time. Especially surfing. Uncoated rope rubs all the skin off the inside of my fingers.

Ozone bar is better than the above custom job in this respect. Rrd bar was good too. But good to see a bit of debate and people coming up with custom options.

The bar comes with a optional PU covered depowerline AND a optional pu covered safety line, the ozone bar does not give you the option.

Some people hate PU tubes and some cant live without it, its something all kiters dont agree on.

gday.
im interested in making up my own custom bar & line configuration.

im wanting to make something similar to the ozone race configuration. also like the crazy 2016 sick bar, looks super clean.

wanting to build something with above bar clam cleat depower, and will probably use a mickey mouse swivel (wherever the hell I can find or buy one)

just wondering if anybody has made their own set-up and if so some pics or ideas.

surprised that not many people mis-match parts and diff brands to build there own personalised bar & lines.

we all have our favourite and least favourite parts.
so whats yours and what would you like to see mashed together??

intrigued by anybody who has done anything like this before??

cheers

This is my custom set up, as everyone knows the Switch bars are not that great.
This really suites me for the surf & now weights just under 1 kg.

toppleover - where did you find the quick release dogleg shackles - Ive seen then on Cahrinha QR from a while back - but cant find them at any marine/boat shop.

Also how does the bar go with no depower and just long bar throw - how does it handle whrn overpowered ?

Cheers

Yep, old Cab QR,s is where the pins come from.

I have kited plenty of times with mates on the same size kites & they have had to depower & I've been fine just using the long throw.

Upgraded to soft bar ends now

Drill a tiny hole in the centre of the bar and put a stainless pin in it (if 2 depower lines)
Then you wont have to untwist the centre lines..

In a few bars I have seen with the untwisting pin, I found the lines rubbing on the pin to untwist causes the lines to wear out quicker.

Also, the lines have to be thinner, so they wear out quicker and break quicker.

I do a lot of spins, so I did not go with this option, It's a great feature and I love it, but the lines wearing out and thin lines put me off the idea.

Perhaps they found a way to fix this?
