Is unhooked powered tricks when kiteboarding anything like the tricks you do cableboarding?

Sort of,
the way I remember it is the power you generate from a cable is by edging hard against the angle of pull and then releasing your edge. There's a different thing that happens in the air as the cable reaches it's stretch point.

Put it this way, from memory I think it's really close. I learnt to ride kickers at a cable park. I found that I could do some tricks behind a cable that I can do kiting.

There's just a little less freedom with the cable park for obvious reasons. (such as walking back when you wipe out)

But a huge benefit - ride a cable park everyday for a week and you get STRONG with riding unhooked.

yeah there similar, just on cable you ride alot more aggressive. you have to load alot harder for longer at cable to get good height, but its great training for kiting. If you get your moves dialed at cable then kiting is piss easy.

not true, you can not kiteloop on cable while pulling a slim chance, mobe 7 or one of those twangly tingyies that look just as ghay as the rest of the kite low stuff.

tell me if i am wrong, but wakestyle kiteboarding doesnt include kiteloops, so cable probably is the closest thing to wakestyle kiteboarding.

Cwamit:
"WAKESTYLE" kiteboarding.
you are using a term that means to ride a wakeboard and do wakeboard tricks, so of course "wake"boarding and cableboarding would be the closest thing to "wake"style kiteboarding.

p.s. wakestlye doesn't include kiteloops, have u ever seen the cable or boat loop? you are forgeting what comes first, and that we are copying wakeboarding tricks when we do "wakestyle" not the other way around, but i guess u probably realise that already, and if you dont there is no point trying to help you.

This is the way I see it.

Wakestyle - Not using your kite for lift. Creating load and pop from your board, doesnt rely on wake, waves. plus a lot more.... kickers and sliders....

Freestyle - Kiteloop's, etc etc..

All rounder - Basic jumps, spins, (does'nt / rarely unhook)

Surf - rides a surfboard in the waves.

Aaron Hadlow on the cable. He is not originally from a wakeboarding background and he doesn't spend much time on the cable so you tell me how he learnt this if they aren't similar?

it may be similar but doing a raley behind the the cable is so much harder then doing one behind the kite. The kite gives way more lift even when its low.
hats off to the guys pulling double s bends to blind on the cable. it seems like they have special springy rubber ropes compared to my attemps.

You should really consider the safety of forum members before you start suggesting risky and dangerous ideas such as this one.

P.S. Maybe you should also advise car-wakers-to-be that an unfortunate car-waking episode was how your infamous moniker "Numnutz" was derived.
