None. each time you wet your kite, it deteriorates, especially in fresh water. If your going to wash your kite, rinse it in the ocean!

I find a front load of Omo a bit rich. I like toploaders with some home made soap and cuddly softener.

OMO.....Just threw it in the dryer, keeping it on delicate setting - don't want any shrinkage.

50/50 mix turps/thinners brings out the colours real nice.

Just make sure after you wash it you give it a good iron to keep it crisp and wrinkle free.

Always apply plenty of lube once dry to help with friction free movement

High temperature and speed on the dryer after the wash gives that new kite crispy feel.

Every now and then I kite in the rain and god washes my kite for me. That is of course if you believe in an imaginary friend in the sky.

I find the warts method is the best - use a top loader and make sure to top deck that sucker

I frequently crash my kite, so washing it is no worries.
Drying it is more a problem.

I can get my 9m in the dryer but my 12 wont fit.

Any suggestions here??

Sooooo expensive at dry cleaners... Especially the big sizes.

If you turn inside out every other session you can use twice as long between cleans..

I've also found using hair spray really helps for beading the water...

My 10m pulled like an 8m after a 30min warm cycle in the dryer. I think the bonds in the thread constrict due to the heat and it pulls all of the kite in a bit. It still looked the same but it had that shrinky dink sheen to it afterwards.

Why are we all wasting our time responding to this stupid thread?!

Rinse your kite and allow to dry, once in a while!!

Give it a liberal application of Femfresh prior to kiting and you wont need to wash it.

Wash it in turps then dry it over an open fire in your lounge room
