It was my first time out down there yesterday, and will be back for sure.
Nice flat water, good shallows too as I'm still getting the hang of it.
Great spot!

Hi Terry...that wind was crazy...even the windsurfers were struggling...were you using a green kite?

Yeah mate, that was me on the green slingshot kite. Got down there pretty late after work.
I got off the water just in time before the wind picked up heaps.....

Hopefully one of the locals will know...
What is the best wind chart to checkout and see if its windy down there on the lake? I live in Sydney, and have to drive down but want to make sure its worth the drive.
If I checkout Illawarra wind / weather on seabreeze...what region is a good estimator for the lake?
Thanks.

That secret westerly spot. Is it pretty secluded? If so, I know the spot and it is a cracker, not too gusty either. I'm sure it has to be this spot for a westerly. Am I close?

I've tried central park area of oak flats in a westerly moons ago, too many wind shadows and way too gusty thanks to all the trees, plus the mud is black and thick.

Years ago guys used to hit kanahooka (if you pay her she can) point in a sou west, just beware of the shopping trolleys in the water and the dapto meth heads in the car park..

Have not tried it myself, but have heard that the area near the police boys club, the grassy area at the end of konrads road is good, less hectic launch area than purry burry and sand bottom...

But it's still the lake

In a true sou wester, mystics beach is cross shore, so is port beach
