Thanks for the detailed response on pro vs default.

I give it a go about a week ago on pro and the shoulder attachment closest to the center. I liked how much depower this setup provided and it would be great for riding waves! I did notice a substantial difference in kite turning speed this didn't worry me too much however when you stack it or if you make any errors it is really amplified.

I think I will stick with these settings for a session or 2 more and then try the original settings again and decide on what I am going to stick with.

Will be great to get some more feedback when you have tried both modes a little bit longer. Thanks in advance.

Thought I'd add my 2 cent's worth. I've been riding the Argo X 10m for about a week now and have to say I am very pleased with the performance. I've owned about 6 or 7 Argos over the years to keep up to speed with their advancements each year and this one takes the cake. As I like to do some unhooked stuff I was always finding the previous models would back stall and I would have to depower quite a bit to prevent it. The Argo X works straight out of the bag, no adjustments to line lengths.
I was also impressed that this kite does actually boost higher in jumps than the last few models. The overall power feels about the same but the extra lift is noticeable.
The pulley less bridle is a god send as I wore the pulley lines out after about 12 months on my old kites. I do give them a flogging though. I like the fact that they cant get caught around the wing tips when self launching too. Had a few close calls with the longer ones.
I'm mainly a freestyle rider but still get in the surf on the twinny. I actually got on some decent size onshore waves at Umina (hard to believe eh?) today and with the onshore wind direction and waves the same and the kite did drift back quite well without dropping out of the sky.
The extra thick lines on the new bar are reassuring as I have broken a couple in the past. The front lines join at the V right down near the bar now which is great for self landing. I ride suicide all the time and the little extra ring on the safety is nice & tidy and much easier to attach to. I accidentally popped the safety the other day in a fumbled attempt to grab the bar and the kite flagged out straight away. As usual I thought oh no this is going to be a pain the get the line threaded back through but it all fell back into place textbook style. Maybe some luck this time???
Relaunching is easy as as long as you let the bar out while doing it for a faster liftoff. I often see so many people even "experienced" riders holding the bar in and fighting to get it up when relaunching, come on people.
Lastly its hard to say if each newer model turns faster as proclaimed but I can notice this one does have some improvement. It must the the shape of the wing tip being slightly squarer but not so much as the TRX was.
I was showing it off to some of the other kiters down the beach and no one could see any difference in the quality of the bigger name brands. These kites are certainly world class in my opinion.
Brad.

Hi Borny, just one question, have you been riding it on the default or pro brile mode?

Hi. Ummm, I'm not sure. Looking at the illustrations it is the pro setting.

Did you already change your bridle mode? If you have not changed it yet should be default and would have 2 extra bridle lines in the bag to make the change to PRO.

Just a quick review on my new Argo AX 12
It is always a bit of a worry buying something online sight unseen and not having tested one. I do however have older Griffin kites so I wasn't buying a complete unknown.
The first thing is the web site. The kite comes in a bunch of colours, but on the website each colour is attached to a kite size. I couldn't change the size and colour combination. In exasperation I emailed Griffin, and bugger me the designer Chris called me. Yep it was a web site glitch. I got the feeling that although it is a web based sale, Chris wants to make sure that you get a kite that is right, and with me, has backed it up with direct contact.

Ok, fast forward to my first session today.
At KFC on the Gold Coast, the wind was a gusty 20kts that dropped throughout the session to about 13kts .
I didn't really know what to expect from the kite. It is a really well made three strut kite. I found it a really nice mix of predictable, yet responsive. It just does everything the ad says.
Goes upwind really well, nice power throughout the range, turns great and jumps well.
Yep, its awesome. I couldn't be happier after just one session.

Right, there is a color per size as standard for online orders, trying to make everything easier (as orders and stock management) but offering a full range of colors at a small charge on preorders.

It's also possible to order custom colors or whole custom design (price will depend on logos size, etc.), but contact is needed in this case, just to make sure that you get exactly what you want. Detailed info here: http://www.griffinkites.com.au/custom-kite-prints

Super impressed with the AX. Better in nearly all respects than my previous kites (core sections, frees and xrs). Went straight to pro bridle and had a few sessions in tarifa spain on a 12 AX. I was surprised that reality matched the hype. Standouts for me ...fast pivotal turning on demand....power steady through the whole turn....soft powerful downloops. I could go on but it's all in the previous reviews.
Had to go back to my old smaller kites when the levante kicked in at 35+. No comparison! I ordered the 8 10 and 14 AX to complete the range and will update the review when i take them to greece (they arrived in london a few days after i placed the order). I ride strapless surfboard.
