What a load of crap...

30 posts and so little detail about the new kite. Eppo and Tony good points.

So does anyone actually know about the new kite yet?

I had the opportunity to kite with a Noise a couple of weeks ago. The session left me very impressed and made the situation (light winds) really enjoyable. The kite ticked every box.

My kites are Reos' and I teach on Catalysts'.

Spoke to someone who has had these kites for a year. A few build issues, dump valves going (all three), bridals breaking on one. Also said hard to relaunch, and has been left short because of this in front of a wave. He is considering a more delta shape for this reason.

Has this been looked at for the 2012. The reason I ask is A young bloke who principally wants to surf (he's a very accomplished surfer) is asking about kiting and I want to advise him correctly. So my motives are not to bash the brand.

I enjoyed myself for the short kites I have had on this kite, not my style, (cup of tea) but for just surfing they were great. Anyone?

The build issues worry me but this is based on only one story

Paul1 your missing the point, all educated opinions are valid

If you didnt like it thats fine, explain why, use comparisons to other brands, so we can understand otherwise your comment is pointless

Gibbo is right all opinions are warranted. But Paul1, why didn't you like it? Give some technical descriptions to warrant your opinion so an informed discussion can be had. Or don't, but it can reduce such bickering.

Maybe this will help a little. I am an very competent intermediate kiter with 9 years constant kiting. I like nearly all types of kiting, strong wind, light wind, surf, jumping and even just cruising. I changed to BWS over 6 months ago after demoing a few new kites. FYI I was coming from Octanes 2010 and have had Takoon Furia's 2008, Helix, Bow kite 06, Fuels 05, Airush 03 and Ozone before. I should say I nearly bought REOs but they didn't have the new bar then.
Thanks to this post (Ryland) I now know that my BWS kites (6M and 10M) are version 2! What I wanted was a totally reliable and predictable kite that never falls from the sky (even if you charge towards it) and also stays where it should in the window. Further, it has to turn in a nice arc with power for good carving. That's what I like about these kites. They are very stable and give me great confidence and feel/feedback. They are slower than my Octanes and especially the Takoon Furias but I don't mind that at all because they are well fast enough with a good bit of bar movement. They are sized wrong but again it's not an issue as you just buy 1 size smaller than you need. The de-power cleat is tougher to adjust than it should be and the excellent bar should have line holders but I don't care because the most important thing is how it flies and how it feels. I love it. You may not, but they are still good kites either way.

I can't understand how they can be honestly described as terrible.

So does version 3 turn faster, have a better cleat or fly better somehow? Oh and seriously - Relaunch is not an issue. Is it on any modern kite?

I've spent a bit of time on Noise kites this summer and the only time I ever really have trouble relaunching is when the kites are under inflated. Also let the bar out when your relaunching (grab a leader line) and they come up plenty quick.

Thanks AdfreeTV, that is good sound info and great to hear the kites you have used in the past. I would like an answer to this years model as well.

I had the Flow 12(04) and 9(03) and my mate had Lifts 12 and 16. We were forever repairing bladders. Have not done that for years!

I have to laugh sometimes about the ridiculous comments that get bandied about. It should be simple...ride a kite, like it or dont, what did you like or dislike...end of story. But on here it goes like this " I saw a picture of the new one, it looks way slower with too much bar pressure" I swear some people comment for the sake of commenting. I have been reading posts on here for only 2-3 years, rarely comment. But I think its getting out of hand with the junk that gets posted. Including this one, it has nothing to do with the original post....See my point.

Nope 2011,
but the what im trying to get at is that people shouldnt be commenting especially negative comments on products that they have no f.u.c.king idea about.

The pump is sold as an add-on.
That sucks.
Pumps aren't an optional accessory, they're a necessary component.
The company just saved themselves $5 by not throwing in a pump with the deal.
Wow.
False economics.

I've got 3 pumps with 3 new kites. I only use one (actually I use an electric one and none of them get used unless the battery is flat). Its the same as buying a kite without a bar. I have 3 kites, 2 bars, I use primarily one, second is a backup and has 20m lines instead of 25m.

Was my review not serious enough for you

Opinions one way or the other are valid to those who make them...why not just demo the kite yourselves, you are the ones to be satisfied by the kite performance rather than opinion!

Is there such a thing as unbiased. Read the reviews - lots of them, compare notes find similarities. Then PM the actual riders and get more detail. Compare these repsonses as well. An open question like this will only generate Bias. end quote)

Perhaps Eppo you can heed your own advice

You should try running a shop for a spell Slave.
You would be surprised how many ask "how much would that be if I didnt want the pump"
I'm serious - happens all the time.

And as for false economics? Im not so sure.
BWS were are the first to offer a flash backpack type bag as an optional extra when every other kite company makes it a compulsory add-on to the price you pay. (no they dont give them to you for free )
I ordered 3 of the optional haversack packs in my first order over a year ago. Guess what - Ive still got 1 in stock.

When you buy a new surfboard,
the shopkeeper gives you a free block of wax.
That's nice hey.
The shopkeeper shows his gratitude with a small gift.
The fragrant wax sweetens the deal.
The shopkeeper is being nice.
He's being a good businessman, he's being clever.
He wants you to come back and spend more dosh.

BWS is dumb.
Looking like a cheap-arse kite co isn't smart, it isn't cool.
Kitebags are a different matter.
They cost a lot more for the Chinese girl to sew up.
I personally don't use kitebags.

And the $5 cost on the pump ...
I take that back.
Probably more like $3.
BWS is so freaking dumb.
lol.

You dont think all other major brands add an extra $50 to the price of kites when they package it with a pump...
Bws has tried to keep the cost down with basic colour (black), no graphics, no pump, simple line setup.
By keeping the cost down it means they can transfer the savings onto you guys.

Its like shopping at aldi. No frills, great quality(most things)

Perhaps you can see i have been talking about the rebel specifically as I have owned and flown. I then did a review on the Vegas, rebel and C4 after flying them back to back.
Yes opinions are always biased, but at least I gave a tecchnical description to back my findings.

Also I did indeed take my own advice and pm many many riders of both the Vegas and C4, before I demoed them.

The post was for a wave kite, period. Better to be specific after some research. Also I was giving him a really good method for narrowing down a kite before you demo them.

Maybe you should read my posts more carefully and even better offer something to the forum and other riders rather than post such ignorant and utterly useless crap.

Try not be a waste of space. So have you ridden a decent wave kite?? What did you like about it and why compared to others you have flown???

I.e. be useful.

@ Waveslave.

How is any business "dumb" when they discount a kite, then attempt to claw back a bit of cash on the extras? It gives the customer some options yet enables BWS to make extra $$ when the customer demands it. When the business is a price leader they have to make profits from somewhere.

Demanding $1800 a kite and throwing in every extra would be one option, whereas this way would be another.

That's fair play, capitalism and if you compare to most other kite brands good value.

A pump is not an 'extra'. ^^^
It's a necessity.
A kitebag is an extra.
If you like, you can carry your kite around in a plastic shopping bag.
If BWS wants to charge money for their cheap-arse pumps, they should start making better quality pumps.
BWS is trying to save $3.
Shows they don't care about their customers.
What's the next 'extra' going to be ... the bridle perhaps ?

Exactly.......
Dont worry about the pump quality! Why people pay good hard earned money
for this poorly designed, poor quality, poor everything Kite....is a mystery to me.
he should be giving away extras to make up for it, not taking things away and charging extra.

i dont think a bag isnt an extra either. Kite, bag and pump have always and will always be the way new kites are sold. Secondhand even, unless its been lost or something.

To be honest doesnt look like much changed much at all.....Big woop shortened bridles and a few extra bits of dacron, fancy scuff guards Pffft!
So no design changes apart from shorter bridles.....
and as far as were all aware the quality probably hasnt improved, its really sad
when your mate cant kite cause hes had to send back kite 3 times in 6 weeks, for numerous reasons.

And As for a Honest review dont think you'll find one, cause the only ones saying good stuff about them are the people selling them, the people riding them for free, or the people promoting them.

IMO/review.......absolute garbage.
