Hey Epp had had a few rides now on both the escape and fury back to back and gotta say i am lovin the fury, higher aspect than the escape but so quick and awesome in the surf ,rockets upwind ultralight bar and loops like a dream, was out on the 9m yesterday for 3 hours on the CB Wave, awesome combo 13-18 knots others were out on 10-12m kites and i was rockin upwind way better than they were @95 kg vs 75-80 kg go and have a ride on one i think it will surprise you.

13 to 18 knots on a CB wave at 95kg that is impressive. Escape sounds my cup of tea.

Only thing is got my ankle surgery on Wednesday so out for 4 weeks and might not be any wind left by then. Oh well been putting it off for years.

So I have the C4, the escape so far on the demo list. Might add the trx as well for good measure. Should be an interesting 2012. Must admit though was out in my 11m rebel today, such a nice kite man. Landed all but one transition roll with a downloop, but the one I didn't land spanked my ass like a bitch. Ouch!

Hey Eppo,

You can drop in and demo them for yourself if you like. We are expecting Fury and Escapes any day now.

Hey dazza as you may have read I'm out of action for a while. I know you are busy as hell, but reckon you could get out on it. Your technical description of how a kite flies is second to none. But hey only if time and inclination exists.

Cheers eppo.

Got 20 minutes under the 13 m PL escape in bugger all wind yesterday. Used five ten thick and wide, flat rockered old school fish from surtech. Xanadu 5'10" wave rocket strapless. The kite is very stable and pulls very well and right up wind in these nothing conditions. Was very surprised. Down looped a bunch. Stock settings, but again obviously need lots more time. Felt quicker than tour typical flatter or bow kite. Acceleration through the window was good and no back stall at all. Wind was around 8 to 14mph with maybe a few higher puffs for a couple of seconds. Very workable kite and you can let it run to generate apparent and then grab an armful of sheeting in to get board speed up with no stall. Good first impression on what I think as a large kite these days. Once again 195 pound rider. 21 m lines. No time to slap on the three meter extensions.
Hope to get some feedback on someone using the 11m fury in waves over there with some actual body weight and in lighter winds.

Ain't nothin but units of measurement funk Dr Funkenstein. Your knots at 8 to 12 still ain't enough boogie to blow a fart across Beauforts dance floor. Puttin a glide in my stride and dip in da hip and testin dis 13 f'n metric meter Mothership. Two meters ; two meters five cm with the Afro... Fletch ... Excuse me mam, I just hit a water buffalo, may I borrow your towel? And now back to your regularly programed kite test.

Have gotten another seven hours under the 11 m escape and two under the 13m. Surprising bottom end with the 13 with no back stall like the 11m. Had the eleven out in huge range. Very good gust handling as well as bottom end grunt. This was 13 knot to 27 knot stuff one day with big strapless directional to get through lulls without the tugging on and off power getting you to a plane like on smaller boards. A busted rail on a quad fish put me back on a regular six foot thruster surfboard. What a loss in smoothness of ride in the gusty stuff for the heavy rider, the kite hung in there well with just a bit more powering up for less efficient board shape.Absolute crap wind. The flatter profile ate up the gusts but would still turn well. Have been pumping the kites hard. Relaunched the 11 and thirteen several times easily and quickly.

We all like smaller kites in the waves and imagine the nine m escape would be just that much better but the eleven had me going down the line and really rocketing back up wind on a very light and flukey day thanks in part to an efficient board and the ability for the kite to build some very predictable apparent wind quickly.

On two days with huge gusty top ends, I switched out to a nine meter kite Sap turning and throwing the kite around to get going in lulls but nice for huge gusts in the side on wind waves, much more work than escape flatter shape and a nine escape probably would have been the call for these conditions, you need a quiver of kites but think these escapes could be great one quiver all rounders. Still like the three strut grunty snap turning kites for ultimate wave sailing conditions but those are not the average kite day and the escape would generally be the more practical choice for daily use.

The long throw on the bar is a treat in killing all power strapless in the waves and easy to sheet in and catch the kite if you have it just sitting at the edge of the window while cutting back on a wave directly into it and slack lines.

Really likes an efficient board and both the 11 and 13 will park and ride well though of course the eleven is still fun to huck around
Nd and the 13 is better than you would think. Really shocked in what I was able to ride in with it yesterday and still fly up wind. Only guy out and really did not expect it. Think nanometer at LG tower there was showing 13 knots top end. I am a heavy guy as well. Lots of projected on this kite.

My Comments:

Firstly i would like to thanks Kite Addiction in Myaree ( Daniel & Reg ) for the recommendation of the Peter Lynn Kites.

I have brought the Peter Lynn Escape 9m and 11m, I have been blown away by the wind range the stability and the blink and you will miss it turning speed of these kites. I have been brought up on the Cabrihna kite range most recently the cabrihna drifter 9m. This kite was great but then i flew the Peter Lynn Escape and it was in my opinion the Rolls Royce of kites.

The Escape, bar pressure has as little or as much bar feed back or as little as you need, I had it set up on the lightest setting and there was no where near enough feed back in the bar in my oppion. I set it to the middle setting and i was blown away with the difference it made the feed back was lively and awake and told me exactly where the kite was.

The turning capabilities of the Escape are phenomenal, look and its there, i found this amazing for messing around in the small chop of perth swell, see something go for it and before you know it the kite was all ready there, i can not speak highly enough of this.

The Depower system is something I am not used to after coming from the ids system on the Cabrihnas, but after messing around with it for a few runs i found it very easy and simple to use with plenty of de power there when need, riding un hooked was a breeze and felt very comfortable.

Bar set up is very comfortable and user friendly.

Relaunch capabilities are crazy quick. Love it in tight times when kite hits the deck after getting smashed in a barrel.

I hope this has been helpful to anyone who reads this. If you have any queries please dont be afraid to comment on this thread and ill help where i can.

Cheers Mark Davis
