I can't understand the red thumbs either....sometimes, no matter how helpful a person can be, people will stir the pot because they take joy in it. Even though this is a public forum, and in the grand scheme of things means nothing in our collective lives, it's still hard not to get offended by ones and zeros...
Chin up dudester, ignore best you can and keep your enthusiasm alive.

Look, you can get good with your gybes in two sessions if you just leave the tt on the beach and stick with the board...Don't ride too far out, just keep practicing your turns back and forth...I ride both strapped and unstrapped, depending on the type of break and how big it is, and sure it is easier to make the transition without straps, so I would start with that. Once you get the motion down, the with straps it be easier to slide your front foot out and back in. The hardest part is leaving the tt on the beach while you practice! Everybody has a preferred method of the turn, I am a natural footer, so when I am headed out on my natural side I carve the turn first and as I am three quarters of the way around I switch my stance. On my unnatural and total goofy side I bring the kite slightly above me and switch stance before I start the carve so I am riding toeside as I go into the turn. Again, everybody has their way of doing things.
For what its worth, I can't ducktack yet and my mission this summer is to have that down...great way to keep upwind and looks pretty cool too!

Yeh that's my technique to...can't get on my toes the other way on the sector just yet! Maybe never will. Love to ride toeside the other way though, smash the left handers like the goofies!

Just noticed some more red thumbs. Does everyone agree it is about time whoever is doing this needs to own up. Come on I can handle it, can you? Tell me what was wrong in your obviously limited mind (it is not your fault, genetics can be a really cruel sometimes), in this post I made about supporting the good low end of the nugget that Saffer is talking about? Also trying to help some dude learn to Gybe? What is your farqin problem! Bring it on, who are ya? Just a spineless Piece of Sh1t it seems. We will see.....

Ignore them. I generally take no notice of them anyway.

Cheers for that. Yeh I liked to admit I don't get pissed but I do and I know I shouldn't. I would just like the weak ******/s who keep doing it to explain what they don't enjoy but what I was saying. Weak, spineless internet d1cknobs who can't own up to their pathetic input. Instead of red thumbing contribute you low life detritus.

Or...let me hear what you have to say. I promise I will be gentle and slowly crush your little minds...

Sometimes you just piss one or two guys off with one comment or one thread. Then they spend the next week or 3 going to your profile, then to each of your comments, and spending their 10 reds per day. I have one or two doing too at the moment. Best just to ignore and they'll get bored. Get upset and they'll get excited and keep going.

Funny thing is radman, your green thumb actually put a smile on my dial. Omg my mood is now dictated by the thumb.

But probably just had one of the best kites of my life, right up there, in exmouth, not at the usual, wave spot. A local told me another so I can't say. Big long flat water section s before the ramps, turtles, went out a kited around a whale breaching, by myself though would have liked to share it with one or two, but still awesome. Enough flat water sections to keep developing my looping etc, yeh just had a ball. Waves weren't as good a the usual spot we all go to, but good enough.

So all is good at the moment a great kite and a green thumb. Yeeha.

Oh yeh that was after a surf, my first try on a SuP( bloody harder than it looks), and another kite and the picture postcard sandy bay. But I get bored quick on flat water as I'm not keen to crank out the handle passes and stuff. Also took my 4 yr old boy on his first kite board ride on the sector 54. Was really not graceful, gotta work on my technique. Eventually had kite bar in one hand and the kid in the other! Oh well he's got a taste of it now. Watch out.

Ha ha I have up ya a red thumb, just worked out how to do it. I promise I will never again though because I haven't got pigeon sh1t for brains, nor do I like taking it up the rear while shouting out my boyfriends name.

Have you thought about a Slingshot turbine. I'm unfortunately a bit over 100 kg , mostly kite down winders in the surf and regularly manage that in 8 to 14 knots.
I do ride 140 x 41 tt, or a surfboard. I find the turbine has heaps of low end and easy relaunch. It's not fast and you do have to plan your turns but I couldn't count
how many times I've managed to have fun on lite wind days.

Maybe if you weren't so worried about garnering green thumbs, you wouldn't get so many red thumbs? Dunno, just sayin'.
Most seabreezers won't even look at the damn things anyhow.

....an to the topic eppo, you got your LW kite yet?

ok eppos got a new lithium lw 14m im just wondering what else is out there in a similar size and built lw specific ie. not over 15m ive been thinking north dyno 15m but im yet to get some solid info on how they handle in such light conditions obviously ive been looking into the ozone edge 15 aswell but i think its too much of a race kite for me, epic infinity unknown size has any one done a good review ridden back to back with something similar??? no one has griffin kites around here so i dont think they fit the bill also out of interest has any one seen an f one source? in the sky ???

What ya weigh ezza, if ya a heavy bloke PM Puertz, he knows a lot about Dynos. I liked the one I was on 16m, but mmm slow. Typical north feel, nice and direct.

You fly WH right? Big Mama 14.5 maybe?

There is a post on kiteforum, goes for a while concerning 15m light wind kites. I'd check that out.

The infinity gets good reviews. Yeh I'm with you though, don't want a race kite. Hence the lithuim.

I really like it. It does what it needs to do. One needs to ask how much better it can be in light winds?

Of course some crew would disagree, but it's more ride down the line, meditative stuff for me. Save my bacon for a 10 or 9m. That's how i see it. Below 10 knots, I'm SUPPING (now) or surfing or diving for crays! (although starting to get a little tentative about this...for obvious reasons).

The core LW is also another meduim aspect kite, that pulls etc. A lot out there man. I reckon stay with the lithuim, but if ya want to sell it, let me know, my bro is chasing one. He saw me out the other day (I didn't know he was watching) and phoned my babbling something about how bull**** light it was and can't beleive you were in the waves and I fkn hate you....the usual.

lol ...
im 70kg i really like the lithium main reason for looking at the dyno is ive allready got the bar i wonder how the 13 dyno would fair with the right board at my weight also i try to support my local where possible they can get the dyno, turbine and the fly but i feel the latter are just a bit bulky for me at my weight ive been using my 12m b5 sb combo which is great but lacks just that bit inthe lulls, havent seen any second hand infinitys yet people who have em must be holding on to em

NRG Light Breeze 14m and/or NRG 16m kites from Liquid Force is what i use and are designed for light wind. I tried a Core 17 m kite with my LF influence 142 mm twin tip board, but the upwind performance was limited compared to my 2012 NRG 16m. The LF NRG kites have 30 meter bar lines, which really helps on light wind days. LF kite boarding are also in the process of designing a race kite for the next Olympics.
